Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Sour grapes guys.

It was an exciting end, disappointing that we didn't show any urgency until the 3rd, but credit to Lowell, they played a great game.

Sour grapes? Maybe.

But still, how can we just not show up for 2 periods of our biggest game(s) of the year? Does that come down to the players? Coaching? Senior leadership?

Should not have lost that game.

I think it's pretty clear this team has not had a leader on the ice since Wingels left.

Overcompensating with 6 captains each year would seem to support that.

Probably the last time we see Smith or BIGGS in a Miami sweater. Sad way to see Reilly go out, probably his worst game of the season.

I hate you right now. BIGGS will be back. he still needs to work on his skill in the NCAA whereas he resort to his physical ways in a canadian league.

May have to retire from the thread after that one, I've watched a lot of hockey, never seen a goal as stupid as that last one after we bombarded their goalie for 5 or 10 strait minutes. The whole Lowell team should go blow their goalie for winning them the game. They will go down hard against Union

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Carr saved them. Trying not to discredit Lowell, because they carried play for 48 of the 63 minutes, but that was about as unsatisfying as it gets.

When your PP ranks 50th, and you blow a 5 minute gift, forget it. Finding new and creative ways to lose these tourney games every year.

Really? I can think of two other similar situations where we dominated and then gave up a crap goal.

2 inches higher by Reilly on that backhand or 2 inches lower on Schilling's (?) slap shot. Blaaaaah

PP did them in, have to score on that 5 minutes with all the momentum we had.

I feel the same way. Hopefully someone steps up and takes the role.

All I can say about the game is that it was a hell of a roller coaster ride. Unfortunate result.

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Earlier in the game they looked flat and disorganized like their game against Western last Friday but once the goals started coming they looked re-energized and got their legs back. I thought with the 5 min major the game was yours. So MANY chances and shots off the pipes. So far NOT a good day for the CCHA.

Uhmmm, how do you call that diving Joe Whitney GWG a "crap goal"? it was one of the better plays I've ever seen and was far from fluky or soft, all hustle and talent.

We would love too...Its better than having a coach who loves losing to Hockey East in the NCAA tournament. And thanks for adding another number to our statsheet
Lowell 22-1-1 leading after the first, plus you had the major in the 3rd/ot (just saying)

Excellent contribution, kindly **** off towards the exit. Just saying.

As an outsider who watched that game, your coach is embarrassing. Pounding the glass, taunting fans, yelling at refs far longer than he should have. Happy to see him lose again.

Wow. Haters gonna hate.

Regarding the glass pounding, wouldn't you be a bit excited if your team was in the process of staging an apparent post-season comeback? I suppose you wouldn't know, finishing in the basement and all that...

I didn't see Jackie Parker banging on the glass when they beat that team in the 2009 finals. Nor did I see Jerry York doing that after his team beat that team in the 2008 regional finals, either. Come to think of it I dont think I've ever seen a coach act like such a clown on national TV before. Just sayin'. Enjoy your summer.
