Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

One of the games that really sticks in my head during my time at Miami.

Saturday's highlights start at 1:18. Down 2-0 in the 3rd, Spinell scores his first collegiate goal. Followed by 2 from Miele and Palmer finishing them off with an ENG.

Hopefully Miami won't need any of these kind of heroics tonight. Let's go Miami!

Great game, iirc it was an absolute mad house in the student section during the third...man they should have kept those unis.

Student section was definitely rocking. Just felt like if we could score one, more would follow as the students were ready to erupt, and that is exactly what happened. And agreed, those unis were great.

This is most likely my last Miami hockey game as a student, which is a bit sad. Thankfully I'll only be off to Cincy after school, so I'm sure I will be able to make it back up quite a bit. I have pretty high hopes for this series, if Knapp continues to be a rock at the back I think we'll come out on top.

Definitely, it really looks nice hanging on my wall :D

Suprised that was uncensored :p

I caved and threw out a bid for one of the leftfacing hawkhead jerseys tonight, but it was pretty puny so I doubt I'll win, can't bring myself to go all out for one of those. If someone offered me one of the 09's I would probably just hand them a blank check, there isn't enough in my checking account to do that much damage.

That was such an amazing game. When was the last time we had a crowd like that? Looks like the season ticket holders actually showed up and every student seat had 2 people in it! It would be nice to get that kind of atmosphere at tonight's game to send these seniors out.

Nice win for the seniors tonight. Knapp looked outstanding once again. To his credit, Heeter played a good game (last goal was a bit of an anomaly though).

Finish strong!

A fantastic night in the CCHA for us. Most important thing obviously is win and get the home ice in round 2. Even better is that we can get up to 2nd with help tomorrow. We would have the tiebreaker with both UM and Why Western, so we can jump them if they lose a shootout. Most important thing is just to win tomorrow and get further away from the bubble.

If we wind up in a 3 way tie with michigan and why western, michigan gets the better seed, then us, then why

You mean we can't erase the weekend in Yost from the record books?

The CCHA needs to explain their tiebreaker better. Am I reading that wrong on their website? First tiebreaker is conference wins? Not like I can read all this on my phone anyway.

I thought you said the first tie-breaker was league wins... If we sweep and end up tied with Michigan, that means Michigan only got 1 point, and we would have 15 wins to their 14. Of course we could tie and take 2 points, with Michigan getting swept, which would give Michigan the advantage in the head-to-head comparison.

Regardless, definitely couldn't have had much better results tonight. Just gotta win to secure 2nd round home ice.

I thought it was conference wins too. I mean it doesnt even happen unless Mich loses a shootout, which is unlikely anyway

Yeah, but I thought it was almost guaranteed that Michigan would walk out of Bowling Green with 6 points, too. Who knows...

First is conference wins. But say we shootout win, and michigan loses, we both still have 14 wins.
