Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Nice job on senior night. Those guys, like the last few classes, have really accomplished a lot. OSU did play very well for the last 25 minutes of the game, but somehow Miami got two bounces and wins that stretch 2-0. Miami played great the first half of the game, but Heeter was outstanding.

New commit, Ryan Siroky. Early '95 birthdate, so it will be a while. Supposed to be a good one.

The next tie breaker is total points in head to head games.

Yeah just trying to get through all the confusion that would happen if us Michigan and Why Western were all tied. Looks like it would go down a steps on the tiebreaker ladder but Michigan has a better goal differential in their games against us and the broncos. but I don't think we could all wind up tied without western having the same amount of wins. Eh, we'll find out in a few hours either way.

For those heading to Columbus, remember to be loud and take over POS furniture arena.

The series preview from Miami's website said tonight's game was going to be streamed on BTN.com, but I don't see it listed.

/confused

Has anyone else tried to do this? I must be missing something...

It takes some searching, but it's on the All-Access page: http://video.btn.com/allaccess/

Looks like it's not a free stream, so you have to buy access. Subscription pricing information is on the lower right-hand side. The cheapest option appears to be $14.95 for one month access to all streaming Big Ten games. The site suggests that there's a $9.95 option for one month access to a specific school's games, but I don't see that option on the subscription options page.

'Be a Lover, not a Heeter!'

just had to use that before he graduated.
You know you could have scored twice as many goals on Heeter tonight than you did and it still wouldn't have been as embarrassing for us than you blowing a guaranteed National Championship in the last minute. LOL!

I do feel bad for him getting pulled on senior night. He had a hell of a beginning of the year and this is how it will be remembered.

What I don't understand is why Osiecki didn't play Hjelle instead of Heeter. I guess it was senior night and he wanted to give Heeter the start, but he should have at least been pulled earlier than goal #5. Not that I'm complaining, but it's just a head-scratcher. Hjelle looked good in relief and he got them the win in Oxford earlier in the season. With home ice on the line, I would have thought Heeter's leash would have been much shorter.

Then again, with the way we're playing right now (and the way OSU is not playing right now), it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference. Most epic regular season collapse in CCHA history? It's gotta be up there, at least.

In other news, I'm actually going to be able to get to Oxford for the 2nd Round series. The only other time I saw the team in person this year was the split in Colgate. Booked the flight home a few weeks ago and was holding out hope that we'd manage to land in the top 4. Glad the boys didn't let me down. Miami Hockey, Mac & Joe's, Fiesta Charra, Bagel & Deli, and maybe I'll even check out that Woods place everyone talks about these days. Can't wait!

In all seriousness, you guys were in your groove this weekend and we weren't.

I don't think which goaltender would have made a difference as our defense broke down in too many areas and you can't put all the game on the goalie's shoulders.
