Re: Obama XXIII: The Muslin Anti-Christ Wages War on the forces of Christianity!

But you're right, Bush did get clobbered (by some) -- for going to clear brush on his ranch too much.

It was a stupid charge then -- everybody knows presidents are on the job all the time; they aren't clearing brush for 10 days (or filling out brackets) with no work, no briefings, no advisors, no meetings, etc. -- and it's stupid now.
Agreed it's stupid whether it's directed at Obama or Bush. Just it doesn't happen to Obama like it happened to Bush. Rather the media touts what a great NCAA bracket Obama has.

I'm truly sorry the media didn't publish more stories about how pristine the Bush ranch looked after he spent a week clearing brush.

Maybe if Obama had been in the midst of his bracket when he received a memo titled "Al Qaeda determined to strike in the US" followed by planes being flown into the WTC and Pentagon the media would criticize him more.

Re: Obama XXIII: The Muslin Anti-Christ Wages War on the forces of Christianity!

I don't care who walked away from what. Nobody involved accomplished anything good.

This is where I respectfully disagree. If one side proposes a compromise that addressed the problem, and the other side walks on it, I don't think its productive to hold both sides equally responsible. In that way you'd be playing into the hands of the side that wants to make the incumbent Prez look bad so that they can take over power next year - in short rewarding naked partisanship over problem solving. While its not always the case, in this one particular instance on this issue the GOP abdicated responsibility, unlike frankly their counterparts during the 1995-96 budget season (see I CAN praise Republicans after all!). ;)

Re: Obama XXIII: The Muslin Anti-Christ Wages War on the forces of Christianity!

If this is such a big problem for both parties, why doesn't one of them propose a vacation policy for the president that determines how much time he gets, when he has to submit his vacation request form, how they will solve conflicts like if the VP has already requested that week off, how many days he can carry over etc. Maybe it could include 2 domestic vacations per year and one international week every other year along with a limit on bags, length of shorts worn by prez and how many golf balls can be lost before he has to go look for them.

All we need is the party that never takes vacations, and if they do, never do anything but work during them, to sponsor the bill.

Well, at least your honest that you like the media's bias toward Obama. That's more than most will admit, so kudos to you!

That makes no sense. It takes two to make a bargain. One side was willing to sacrifice, the other was not. That's not blame assignment, it's an explanation of the event.

"I don't care who ran the red light while texting and driving under the influence. Neither side prevented the accident."

If you really put finding a solution as the primary objective here and you think Obama will be re-elected then you should be working for a Dem House and a filibuster-proof Dem Senate, because with the current attitude of the GOP that is the only way any solution will be reached. You can call their opposition principled or you can call it cynical, but either way, they have demonstrated that they refuse to compromise.

The media is so terrified of the charge of being biased towards Obama that they bust his chops all the time. The same thing happened with Clinton.

When you've calibrated your instrument panel to Fox, everything else must look far left.

Obama pretty much signaled that too when he completely walked away from the Bowles-Simpson commision report after he was the one who set it up.

Winner.

Can't tell you the last time I watched Fox. Try again.

Oh, and continue on with your imaginations of how the media is terrified of being charged with bias toward Obama. That's one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Even the liberal media folks don't make that claim. They just say they're calling it the way it is.

Just because you don't watch it doesn't mean that you don't sound just like them.

Which makes it all the worse.

Now why the **** are you people trying to have a conversation with bob?

No argument that this was a terrible decision. The saddest thing is, he threw it away and then was forced to put forward a position even farther to the right (but of course not far enough for those "our primary objective is to defeat Obama" patriots).

However, despite that horrendous start, he did finally put forward a proposal that was him bending over and grabbing his own ankles. If not for the Tea Baggers, the GOP would have snapped that up and laughed all the way home. As it is now, Jesus couldn't get a bill through Congress.

It never ceases to amaze me. No Republican on this board:
Supported the wars
Supported or voted for W
thinks W is a conservative
watches Fox "News"
is even a registered Republican...they're an Independent or Libertarian.

Incredible!

Makes me wonder who supported the wars and voted for W...

Southerners. You know, the ones that should have won the Civil War.

Patient 0 isn't the only guy who gets infected. Given the Echo Chamber, everything that starts out as a gleam in Roger Ailes' eye eventually worms its way into a lot of dittohead skulls.

Which Jesus? The filthy liberal hippie who has dark skin and speaks a funny language, or the polite Southern gentleman with blond hair, blue eyes and speaks perfect English with a slight twang?

Jesus couldn't have spoken perfect English. Only elitists do that. Jesus herp-a-derped.

Sorry, your wormhole of paranoia is getting too deep for me to follow. Or perhaps you can't imagine that people could come to conclusions other than your own, without being under the spell of Rush or someone like him?

Fox is biased, so I don't watch it, just like I don't watch the legion of liberal media outlets that are also biased. Not to mention that you get precious little actual news reported on any of them.

I did vote for W, because the alternatives were dreadful. Bush did some good stuff, like tilting the Supreme Court back toward the middle from its traditional strong liberal lean. On other stuff he didn't do so good, like the wars and continuing down the road of federal fiscal profligacy. But, I know the nuance of liking some things about someone, while not liking others, is a level of nuance a lot for some folks to try to grasp.
