Re: Obama XXII: Occupy the White House

They are covering the story??? I guess I had not noticed that.
They're covering it the way they cover everything: CNN uses it as a platform for its army of empty-headed pundits and FNC uses it as right wing propaganda. Both of them produce the same output regardless of the input -- they are like candidates at a debate who will give you the same rote answer no matter what the question or the facts of the situation. That's "news."

So it isn't so much that they've decided to cover anything up. They don't need to, since it's the same lullaby no matter what happens. There's no conspiracy, just universal laziness.

Re: Obama XXII: Occupy the White House

I too had suspicions about the original source, which is why I posted a few other sources including IUPUI and the USA Today. Feel free to ignore those I suppose.
I didn't ignore those, but neither of those other two sources addressed what private charity counts as. And even accepting those figures at face value, it's misleading to only point out US private donations without any other country or using figures that are for gov't run programs.

Re: Obama XXII: Occupy the White House

It's a matter of who makes the first monumentally stupid move, I fear. Someone's going to end up dead soon enough. If a photogenic white blonde Harvard girl dies after a nightstick enema, Wall Street is hosed.

It will probably take more than a death to turn the media negative. A 14 year old girl was gang raped by Occupy Dallas, and nobody raised an eyebrow. "We thought she was 18."

Maybe because it didn't happen? An 11-year old girl was gang raped in Dallas, but that was in March. The 14-year old who was "raped" is not cooperating with authorities.

DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) – Dallas Police continue to investigate whether a teenage runaway was sexually assaulted by an adult male at the Occupy Dallas encampment behind City Hall.

A source within the Dallas Police Department who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation said the girl ran away from home in Garland last month and that she is now refusing to cooperate with investigators. She initially told officers that she had sex with a man in his early twenties and had engaged in sexual activity with several other people.

Some members of the group told CBS 11 the girl identified herself as a 19-year-old and never knew she was 14.

But that's a great characterization by you. Hannity would be proud!

I may have exaggerated a little tad bit. ;) There's a lesson in that story about rebellious girls who "seem a lot younger". But 14? I'm guessing the "men" were really drunk and it was really dark.

Re: Obama XXII: Occupy the White House

Oh man, you can't be a runaway girl in Dallas Texas, home of SMU and Craig James. Just not safe.

Call the Orkin man. Get rid of these parasites. Honestly, you'd think these useless punks were describing the fall of Budapest to the Soviet tanks. ". . .camp has fallen." Too funny for words. Here's a little tip kiddies: you play at revolution and sooner or later somebody's gonna take you seriously. Call it the Kent State syndrome.

So find them and point them out. To keep inferring the US isn't a generous country is simply wrong.

Never said or inferred that the US wasn't generous, only said that bringing up just US figures without any kind of way to compare is misleading.

As is bringing up figures which only compare government charity.

Discussion with Foxton:

Reasonable poster: Water is wet.
Foxton: You didn't mention anything else that is wet. How do we know water is the wettest?

Figures which actually compare countries rather than just look how much 'Merica gives!

I'm not surprised that you fail to realize that it's a valid question to ask what is actually being counted as charity.

It's more about the source of the water: "American water is a failure... every other country's water is much wetter"
No matter what you compare, by any metric, a certain mentality of people will always hate their own backgrounds and circumstances, and consider everyone else to be "better". (I didn't say "liberals"; you thought of that yourself:))
It's a "grass is greener" mentality combined with self-loathing.

Oakland PD saying they didn't fire in the crowd is bull****! Here are some of the shells I picked up! #OccupyOakland pic.twitter.com/Isp3nVgY

Different police forces are taking very different approaches to this around the country.

ETA: Faux "News" sheep are now being told the Occupy movement is being led by <del>Islamofascists</del> <del>Communist thugs</del> ACORN! It's like they have a Wheel of Scapegoats and they spin it whenever they have to pin the blame on someone.

ETA2: It gets even better. Now they're pinning it on someone else.
The Red Army? Next they'll somehow imply Mao is behind this. Napoleon? Maybe the force behind the protesters is the Ivan the Terrible?
