Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

Re: Obama XX: Maybe We'll Even Talk About Obama

Don't know where to put this...but here it comes. Folks in Uptown just aren't very good at the crime thing:

In separate interviews with investigators, the men admitted robbing the TCF Bank branch in Uptown, and each implicated the other, according to an FBI affidavit filed with the charges.

The affidavit continued:

Tyler, having cut off his electronic monitoring device, used a car he had stolen Saturday from a fellow resident at his Minneapolis halfway house and waited outside the bank Monday as Vasquez held it up.

Vasquez handed the teller a note demanding cash and said he would "smoke" him if he didn't comply. Vasquez also aimed a pepper spray can at the teller. Vasquez was given $215, and he hopped in the back seat of the car.

As Tyler and Vasquez fled, they collided with a BMW in a neighborhood about 12 blocks from the bank and then hit two parked vehicles, the FBI said. Two people in the BMW were slightly hurt, and Vasquez ended up with "large cuts and scrapes" on his face and leg.

The suspects fled on foot and then commandeered a 36-year-old woman's car about a block away, the FBI added.

The men were arrested Tuesday afternoon at a motel on West 7th Street in St. Paul. The U.S. Marshals Service said Vasquez and Tyler were tracked there because Tyler had paid for the room with a credit card stolen from the owner of the first getaway car.

HaHa. I had an algebra teacher who by this standard would have been sent to Alcatraz. Miss Hawkins, known to one an all as "The Hawk." She roamed around the classroom and was like radar, locating students not paying attention. Their reward? She'd zing an eraser across the room with breathtaking accuracy and smack them in the head with it. Usually it only took one time to get that thwack and the resulting cloud of yellow dust to make you a true believer.
We had metal tables in our shop classroom, and we had plenty of the stereotypical shop students in the class, the kind that don't care at all about classroom stuff, and took the class because they just wanted to work on stuff in the shop. This led to kids trying to nap during the classroom portion. When the teacher caught someone sleeping with their heads on the metal desk, he would take an old brake rotor from behind his desk and drop on the metal table about 6 inches away from the kids head, from about 2 feet above the table. I can't believe no one actually **** themselves.

They were supposed to be the feel-good story of the year. Now I hope those ******** lose in the first round. Sorry, Jimmer; better luck in the NBA.

Even though it's a benighted rule, it was pretty ballsy to actually suspend him. In the SEC you can go on a killing spree and be there for tip off.

I give them credit for following through with their honor code, but the rule should never have been there in the first place.
It's not like he committed academic fraud or perpetrated a crime.

I'm not so sure. I think I remember reading once that what he did is punishable by stoning.

I don't know where you are, but it sounds nice. The Death Cult is doing very well down here.

I'm sure when evolution comes up, they show up but they aren't there on a regular basis. I'm on the coast of Maine, there is 3 feet of snow on the ground and wind chills are below 0 right now, are you sure it sounds nice:D

It's beautiful there in the summer though. I've been to Nova Scotia in the summer and I imagine Maine being similar.

Its a great area, tough to make a decent living but maybe thats the payback. This has been the winter from hell though, never had this much snow at my house in the 20 years I've lived here.

Sweet, sweet Ithaca Nostalgia.

I've been to Maine in all four seasons, and the only thing that's really bothered me about it is those black flies that come in like the choppers in the beach attack scene of Apocalypse Now.

What's wrong with this video from Madison?

Why shouldn't it? He knew exactly what he was getting in to when he signed on to go to BYU.

I'd actually be okay with vouchers as long as they were means tested. Which would defeat the whole purpose of Republican support for vouchers, which is to send Dick Cheney's grand niece to Country Day School on the taxpayers' dime.

DC voucher system?

So...? Why shouldn't the rule be there? It's BYU's right to have such a rule. Just as it would have been the kids right to pick a different school to play basketball for. He didn't, and he now he gets to bear the consequences.

BYU has the right to say you can't play on the Sabbath too, that doesn't make them right.

BYU has the right to say you can't play on the Sabbath too, that doesn't make them right.

But it also doesn't make them wrong. There's a difference between "I don't like that rule" and "They shouldn't have that rule". So again, why shouldn't they have that rule?
