Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

Please tell me the American people are smart enough to take the first Congressman who brays impeachment and Fredo her on some lake in Minnesota? Do we really want impeachment to sink to the level of the Clinton fiasco whenever Congress and the presidency are split, forever?

The GOP would be remiss to read yesterday's swing of independents as some sort of "endorsement". Many people who voted for the GOP yesterday like myself, also voted for Obama in 2008, and we can switch our votes again in two years if the same atrophied "politics as usual" persists in DC.

Politics as usual will persist, but who will be blamed for that? The real question is who will be able to deflect blame on others and who won't be able to?

It may not make a difference who's running the show. As the global economy recovers, and the US remains mired in debt and fiscal inaction, the bond vigilantes may force some very draconian choices on them ala Greece.

At least we'll be doing it without Ann Kirkpatrick and poor old Harry. Was there a more devastating piece of tape this cycle than Ann walking out of her OWN townhall meeting? Young Quayle wins. And we came pretty close to ousting "Mr. Boycott" in the 7th. Not a bad night in Arizona.

And that would signify a real shift, but to eschew dollars the global economy still needs somewhere else to go. India and China are the obvious places to go, but they both have really serious problems.

Yah, it was a pretty heady evening for Republicans in Arizona, sweeping every statewide office up for election, gaining a super majority in the state senate, adding seats in the state house, and winning at least 5 of the U.S. House seats. It is amazing how close a tea-party candidate came to beating Grivalja in a very heavily Hispanic district where he's gotten 85 percent of the vote before. The other race, with Giffords (D) ahead by a couple thousand votes in SE Arizona, is still not called. Really, it's a bit of a consolation prize for the Dems to have held 3 U.S. House seats in AZ (if current leads hold) in the worst election environment for Dems I've seen in AZ. The Republicans were very close to grabbing 7 of 8 U.S. House seats.

The easiest shots across the bow would be for the big players to merely sit on the sidelines during the Treasury auctions and push rates up that way. Fortunately, most interest rates are historically low right now. However, as the global economy recovers rates will increase and our fiscal issues could be come a major target for these guys who range from PIMCO and Black Rock to the foreign banks and governments who are currently willing to subsidize our low rates in return for security.

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

Obama's not getting impeached. End of. Of course it will be proposed, just as Dems proposed a Bush impeachment, meh. As for Bachmann and her "leadership position" which has Scooby in tizzy, she's running for conference chair. Can you even name the two conference chairs right now? It's a position ideal for reaching out to grassroots, something Bachmann is good at it. Non story.

Although, not two seconds after I typed that, I see that Hensarling is running for conference chair as well. He's much more preferable than Bachmann, but that's just my opinion.

I'm not in a tizzy at all. It's great for normal people if Bachmann is made Speaker and impeachment hearings happen immediately. I want to see the birther thing go through whatever it is it would go through.

Obama was a complete wimp today. The faster he's gone the better.

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

Right, but you seem to be under the impression Bachmann is running for Speaker. She isn't. (At least I hope to high heaven she isn't.)

No, I know she's not running for Speaker. She's running for a leadership position. I knew that all along.

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

{sigh}

I was making a point that if she was running for Speaker and got it it would be great. I wasn't trying to imply that is what was happening. Boehner seems to be a lock for that.

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

Oh, I see. In that case, I think it would be absolutely swell if Dennis Kucinich was named House Minority Leader.

I like Dennis. Stand up guy. He answers questions and he tells you what he believes and why. Michelle Bachman has no clue what she is talking about half the time.

But, whatever.

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

I don't like Bachmann. She's better than a Democrat, but that's about it in my mind. Wasn't equating her with Kucinich, though I think he's kooky. I'm saying that both events have a similar chance of happening, that is, zero.

Re: Obama XVII: Do You Take Your Tea Party with One Sugar or Two?

massachusetts truly is retarded....

Voters in a state representative district in Pittsfield have knocked down a ballot proposal that pushed for a woman’s right to go topless in public.

The Third Berkshire District ballot question failed on Election Night by a more than 2-1 margin, with 2,934 votes in favor of the measure and 6,855 against. The proposal would have required the district’s state representative to support legislation amending the definition of nudity so that females of any age could be shirtless in public anywhere that males can.

Katherine Gundelfinger, who spearheaded the effort to put the question on the ballot, said she was confident that this wasn’t the last folks will hear about the issue.

“The 2,934 voters who voted in favor of amending the definition of nudity to reflect gender equality give me confidence that this is an important issue that must be heard,” Gundelfinger said in a statement.

For now, indecent exposure in Massachusetts remains a misdemeanor, carrying a maximum penalty of up to six months in a house of correction, a $200 fine, or both.

I think Dennis would be great in a leadership position. He's no more liberal than what they had in those positions and he's smarter and more savvy.
