Obama XIII: It's all Bush's fault.

Re: Obama XIII: It's all Bush's fault.

I don't want to post hyperbole, but has anyone heard rumblings about how the oil leak in the gulf has inadvertently triggered a larger problem regarding a methane bubble that if erupted could create a large tsunami? Again, don't kill the messenger because word of mouth can often be utter b.s., but he's a pretty intelligent guy and swears he's been reading up on something that the major media will not carry.

Re: Obama XIII: It's all Bush's fault.

I can't find it now, but I posted a link to a TV show segment that had a cool animation of the methane release, tsunami, and explosion that would follow. This was a while ago, based on rumored super-saturated pockets of methane deep in the Pacific and resulting in Lake Nyos but on an apocalyptic scale.
The newer point was that the methane leaking from the Deepwater well could be dissolving in the water... up to a point. Then a trigger could get a chain reaction returning it to gas (obviously my chemistry terminology is long gone). But this story of a giant reservoir down there under the seabed is far more unsettling... Florida etc. demolished by the earth's own fart?
Maybe this delay we're hearing about, is Obama gearing up a massive evacuation before they put the cork in it. SPOOKY!
Here's a better description.
and here's the clip: "Mega Disasters - Methane Explosion"

So Obama will be in Maine in a day. The rumors of what is going to happen here is a hoot. I do know the sight seeing planes are grounded as no planes within 12 Nmiles of Obama. Folks are convinced Acadia Nat'l park is going to be closed as the Obamas want to go hiking, no freakin chance of them shutting down the whole park. I do blame Bush for this though if he didn't come here all the time Obama never would:p

My brain is exhausted just thinking about it.

Re: Obama XIII: It's all Bush's fault.

The WSJ isn't overly thrilled with the financial reform bill:

Neither is anyone else who has a hot clue about financial markets. Moreover, given the speed at which financial markets and products often exceed regulators' grasp, I doubt it will do much to prevent the next "crisis", whatever it looks like. On the other hand, for guys like me, the Banking and Finance Lawyers' Full Employment Act aka Dodd-Frank gives us serious job security as we punch through the regulatory framework that has yet to be developed.

Edit: In case you're bored ...

The actual bill is almost as interesting. ;)

I'm sure it gives many regulators job security also. I wonder how many agencies will be formed because of this bill?

And many of those regulators eventually end up in the private sector, so they often "play ball". Actually only 2-3 new agencies, and the OTS is dissolved into the OCC. Then again, with 243 rulemakings and 67 studies mandated by Congress on the horizon, this "reform" is not set in stone. ;)

Listening to Howie Carr in Boston, Scott Brown is getting hammered for his yes vote on the reform bill

The fact that Howie isn't in the middle of roasting the utterly idiotic circumstances involving DeMasi and Gallucio is further proof of his massive failure.

The one day I agree with the Hack and he's kvetching about Truck Boy?

I'm no fan of the bill, and I'd rather he'd have voted against it obviously, but I'm not at all outraged about it . Scott Brown is the immensely popular (+30 favorable rating I think) Republican Senator from Massachusetts. Massachusetts!!! If this was a Senator from Utah or South Carolina or someplace doing this, I could understand the anger but in this case I think the GOP should be counting their blessings.
