Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

Re: Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

Shutting off the inter-regional payment tap (which runs from blue givers to red takers)
This assumption might change with magnification. In Michigan, the conservative bulk of the state works to support the unemployed, welfare-dependent, (and drug-addicted) city of Detroit. But it's still a blue state, because of the sheer numbers packed into those three liberal counties.
And we're still east of the Mississippi.

Re: Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

Petreaus is one heck of a guy to bring out of the bullpen so to speak. I think the right decision was probably made here.

I understand McChrystal's desire for candor and openess, but some of those comments attributed to him and his staff were really stupid and they did "cross the line".. I like Petraus a lot, and hope they can find a role for McChrystal back in Spec Ops, where he really belongs.

Re: Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

Looks like BHO finally found an "azz too kick." While this kerfuffle doesn't rise to the level of Truman/MacArthur, Obama was right to pull the trigger.

Re: Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

Nobody "misspeaks" to Rolling freaking Stone.

If McChrystal were a soccer player, he just got a red card for diving.

Agreed...if the same thing happened in a company, the result would be the same (which is not a bad measuring stick). You can't effectively manage your brand and therefore effectiveness with folks on your team also playing against you.

So -- with all of the comments about the Zero golfing while the oil continues spewing, I'm surprised that no one brought this up until Dennis Miller on tonight's Factor.

What the heck is he wearing? He looks like a typical weekend hacker who tries to walk on at your local muni!

It looks like he bought the shirt and shorts at WalMart. Uh wait -- no way Barry would shop at Wally World.

You'd think the alleged leader of the free world would be able to get some top-end tailored golf attire from someone like avowed liberal Phil Knight.

Of course the opposite end of that continuum were the pictures of Nixon walking the beach at San Clemente wearing wing-tips!

Of course - no one ever said Nixon was cool -- well except for this; :D

The first big winner on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" had to answer the question, which president appeared on "Laugh-In." He was the guy who got all the way to the million dollar question without using a life line then called his dad--not to ask for help, but to advise pop he was about to win a million bucks!

Re: Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

So we have a hoity toity arugula eating elitist President who shops at Walmart and looks like an everyday Joe Schmoe.

Yes we can!

One of the top 10 weird TV moments.

The ex-mil Dittoheads at work thought McChrystal had to go for insubordination. They were way more insistent about it that the 2 or 3 (also ex-mil) liberals here. Everybody thought Petraeus was a good idea, anyway.

McChrystal can certainly carve out a great career as a talking head on Fox, or run as Palin's veep, or something. Obama seems to really have taken this Lincoln thing to heart. ;)

I never knew you were such a fashionista. Not that there's anything wrong with that ... :p

Re: Obama XII: The shine is off the glass slipper

I don't know why more people have not pointed out that Obama has his finger to his lips, signaling to his vast army of socialist Muslim robots to keep the conspiracy quiet. Where's the outrage?
