Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Funny how the media covers the Tea-baggers, but turned a blind eye to the multiple anti-war protests that drew hundreds of thousands here in this country, and around the world.

I guess since they're angry old white men instead of dirty effin' hippies, that makes them newsworthy.

I don't know about them turning a completely blind eye. I remember the very first series of protests that popped up in every major city way back in 2003 when we first started to <strike>ignore al Qaeda</strike> fight in Iraq got a lot of coverage. Some of the protests before the 2004 election got coverage, too.

Even beyond that, the general sentiment of the fact that a huge percentage of Americans thought W. was completely pooch punting the war against al Qaeda definately made waves throughout our country- even in the media- for the last 5 years of W.'s presidency. None of the actual protests could have been covered by the media, and you could still say that that sentiment was well documented.

So, in short: not entirely sure where you're coming from.

Joe beat me to the punch. Exactly one radical Dem, what a laughable thing to claim.

Already included in Joe's list but worth naming is Barnie Frank. This guy is a major player in ushering in the recession via the mortgage crisis. (But I must admit, he is my favorite nutjob liberal for championing the reversal of the Unlawful Gaming Act, or whatever it's called.)

Carol Shea-Porter of NH is also a radical liberal. She's on record for saying that she votes along party lines 100% of the time because Democrats are right 100% of the time. (kinda like some of the posters on here who don't like having to think for themselves)

The Democrats have lots of radicals in Congress, along with one in the White House.

Try reading where he said there is one crazy liberal in the senate.

Anyone else want to lock Rover in a room with gregg and place bets on who makes it out alive?

Rover would be as successful as the French in WW2

For all those who think the Tea Party movement is dead:

ABC estimating 2 million are in DC, but AP and the NY Times don't see that:

Scores?? It's no wonder journalists are trusted about as much as used car salesmen!

Hmmm...that's funny because I just checked ABC, and here's what I got...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thousands of conservative protesters from across the country converged on the Capitol Saturday morning to demonstrate against President Obama's proposals for health care reform and voicing opposition to big government, what they say is over-the-top spending.

Large crowds expected in capitol for Tea Party against Obama's health care plan.Carrying signs depicting President Obama as Adolf Hitler and the Joker, and chanting slogans such as "'No big government" and "Obamacare makes me sick," approximately 60,000 to 70,000 people flooded Pennsylvania Ave, according to the Washington DC Fire Department.

Organized by FreedomWorks, a conservative activist group led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, many of the protestors were affiliated with the Tea Party movement, grassroots demonstrations that began across the country last spring to protest Democratic tax policies, and government bailouts of the banking and auto industries.

Anybody wonder why SteveP has the same credibility as a used car salesman?:D  :D

Also, what is it with you guys and Hitler references?

Rover would be as successful as the French in WW2

Please. Conservatives are all nerdy wusses. ;)

So how many of those teabaggers actually voted in November? That's kind of how we do things in this country.

If the Senator from Vermont is a crazy liberal, what does that make the Distinguished Majority Leader (D-NV), or the junior senator from Minnesota?

Frankly they're all there just to get reelected. The trick is, how do we get them all out short of a revolution?

If a factory turns out 100 defective widgets out of 100, what makes you think throwing out those widgets and accepting the next 100 from the same factory will change anything?

There are two ways of reforming a legislature: make members more accountable, or make them less accountable. If you do the former they pander to every passing mob taste, if you do the latter they become prostitutes for well-paying johns.

Or, ABC never said that: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/prot...-falsely-attributed-abc-news/story?id=8558055

Conservative activists, who organized a march on the U.S. Capitol today in protest of the Obama administration's health care agenda and government spending, erroneously attributed reports on the size of the crowds to ABC News.

Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, the group that organized the event, said on stage at the rally that ABC News was reporting that 1 million to 1.5 million people were in attendance.

At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large. ABCNews.com reported an approximate figure of 60,000 to 70,000 protesters, attributed to the Washington, D.C., fire department. In its reports, ABC News Radio described the crowd as "tens of thousands."

Brendan Steinhauser, spokesman for FreedomWorks, said he did not know why Kibbe cited ABC News as a source.

As a result of Kibbe's erroneous attribution, several bloggers and commenters repeated the misinformation.
