Obama 7 - now what?

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

I'm only aware of them doing that or trying to do that to companies that have received Federal Funds (i.e. bailout).

Is there another example I am not aware of?

You are arguing with people who think Atlas Shrugged is a documentary. ;)

Nope, but is there legislation as part of the Bailout/Stimulus that allows Uncle Sam to set the rate of compensation for a corporation's management? I'm curious if the administration is running around half cocked.

I'm all for it if they have to bail you out. Private company wants to stay private then they shouldn't get tax dollars.

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

By what law, regulation, etc. can the US Government determine the pay of a private company?

I don't know, but it'll be fun watching the brain drain from the TARP babies, especially BofA, Citi and AIG to their competitors over the next few months.

These f-cking loons that adopted Rand's work as their new Bible tick me right off. Jesus, some of us have actually read all of it and that's why we're completely disinterested in both sides of the political fence.

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

Didn't Nixon or Ford institute wage and price freezes?
Nixon. But was it constitutional? Though some will argue that it was for everyone, not a targeted group, thus "legal"." I was a young'n back then and did not fully understand what was going on.

This is targeted and does the government have the constitutional power to do this? Strangely, if the Congre$$ passes a special income tax on employees of TARP recipients who make more than the President, then it would be legal.

Re: Obama 7 - now what?

I will give you that one, though honestly I have never seen him on Olberman whom I do watch quite a bit as it is by far the biggest comedy on tv these days.

Maddow had TPaw on a couple of times she also had on McCain's daughter and a couple former Bush cabinet members...and that is just in the last few months. I can't say anything about Olbermann I would never purposefully watch his show.

Ike did too, on "industries vital to national security" (coal, steel, etc). The feds have also prohibited the right to strike in certain industries, which oddly enough right wing constitutional scholars never quite got around to challenging. :p

Silly rabbit, property rights are the only real rights.

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/10/21/palin-haters-to-release-lookalike-attack-book-on-nov-17/

are democrats so insecure in their supposed political and intellectual superiority that they have to release a book with a nearly identical title and cover the same day as Palin has her book release?

Two thoughts. First, Palin's book was initially supposed to be entitled "A Steaming Pile from a Smarmy Smile," so this may have been a coincidence. Second, if you wanted to make a little money on the basic intelligence level of a Palin supporter, this might be one way to do it.

I think they're making some assumptions about the intelligence of Palin readers.

I think they're going to make a lot of money.

Still, for somebody who is supposed to be irrelevant there seems to be an awful lot of people who seem to care about her.

I think most people go to pick up the book on the shelf because they have a good idea of what's in it. Most people don't expect others to hate so much that they'd go out and perpetrate a fraud on the consumer. Maybe we should start switching the milk at the grocery store with some water-cut glue?

edit: or some thinned down non-toxic paint.

She's not irrelevant. She alternates between interesting and downright entertaining.

What you're thinking of is that very few people take her seriously.

Same difference... why do Democrats care so much? They seem to be angered by her mere existence. The mention of her sets off something awful in people.

Liberals hate Palin because she is a conservative female. Plain and simple. Nobody has ever attacked her on her ideals. Just the image portrayed by the media and the left.
