Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Perhaps you should move to a 3rd world country. One with no taxes. And see how far your college degree gets you.

Absolutely not! Your child-like response infuriates me!

I am not against paying taxes whatsoever; I am for fiscal responsibility. I am for people making something of themselves, and not relying on us to be burdened by their misfortune... like teen pregnancy, single parents, not studying in school, etc. Furthermore, when businesses are folding at the rate they are in the USA while outsourcing off shore, and unemployment is 10% (can't blame Bushie for that now) I am for FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. Not healthcare for every at the expense of the tax payer, as well as confounding the issue by allowing 30+ million illegals become us citizens... won't that just increase the unemplyment rate?!

RESPONSIBILITY begins at home.

You completely missed the point of my thread, Scooby, but I give you an A for Effort for standing by your President.

I didn't vote for him. Sorry.

As for not blaming Bush, I really don't think you understand the magnitude of the financial crisis the United States was under. We're lucky we have it as good as we do right now.

OK, you did not vote for him, my bad.

However, your statement about me moving to another country is horrible, and misrepresents my views greatly.

Since when did the USA become UNICEF? Why does everyone have to be equal? I drive a BMW, when will it become a crime for me to drive my BMW SUV when there are poor misfortunates in inner-Philly smoking crack and getting pregnant... and all they can drive is a beat up '91 Camry? It is not fair!

While we are guaranteed to be created equal, that does not mean the govenrment needs to oversee who gets what and how much.

I don't disagree, but every other country but us covers their citizens. AND they spend less on health care. Perhaps we have the best medical care in the world because of that, but I have yet to be convinced that is the case.

Also take into account that our businesses provide our health care and the costs are skyrocketing. Those costs make us less competitive in the world marketplace.

Something has to be done. I don't think this plan is it but at least if they pass something than they'll have something they have to fix. If they pass nothing they'll just table this issue until a real crisis occurs much like SS and Medicare.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

No one else gets to raise their prices over 10% per year. Why do insurance companies?

To cover costs. If they didn't raise the prices they would be out of business; as shown by their 2.2% profit margin. The primary reason they have to raise their prices to begin with is because they are charged more due to Medicare/Medicaid funding less than the cost of procedures.

In California the story was all the sick people were keeping their insurance and the well people are dropping it like flies so they can stay in their homes.

If the insurance pool only consists of those who have a lot of money and those who can't afford to live without insurance than the costs are going to go up.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Insurance, Health Care, Hospitals, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices need to be REGULATED by the government; however, this is something both parties have refused to do for decades.

I am not counting on Social Security, I have investments and a 401(k) fluid like everyone else's. I am preparing for my retirement without the aid of the government, as well as my health care and end of life/funery expenses.

People should stand on their own two feet, exercise RESPONSIBILITY, and get off of the government teet. I could care less about the poor little gazelle who cannot run as fast as the pack and get eaten my a lion.

I proudly pay my taxes, but that does not mean I like or condone where the money is going at the control of the sitting government. The outcome of their decision is my potential vote, and I believe the torrent around America is the democrats are due this November.

Heh. Eeyores like Scooby and his dream Playboy centerfold, Nancy Pelosi, act like conservatives don't want health care reform. They couldn't be more wrong. We do! We just want actual reform instead of taking a hatchet to the system and making a lot of what IS right with our healthcare all screwed up!

Soooooooo, why didn't you do anything about it in the 12 years from 1994-2006 when you controlled both houses of Congress, and also held the presidency for much of that time?

It wasn't a domestic priority like tax cuts and turning the financial system into rubble.

I going to go out on a limb here and guess that he wasn't one of the ones actually in office during that time.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

What, no comment from the mouth-breathers that their precious survey was just made up? Like everything else that comes out of Republican's mouths these days?

No apologies for posting that crap?

Even worse, O'Reilly made it the center piece of his talking points last night. 6 million mindless automatons and me watched him do it. :D ;)

Please site. Either this is a lie or, like the POTUS, you were typing without the benefit of a teleprompter.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Sorry hippie, but it wasn't made up.

Media Matters for America contacted the New England Journal of Medicine, which confirmed it neither conducted nor published the "survey."

So, what survey are we talking about then?

Nice use of the pejorative though, it makes your comment so much more compelling.

Sorry hippie, but it wasn't made up.

I'm confused as to what these words mean:

The opinions expressed in the article linked to above represent those of The Medicus Firm only. That article does not represent the opinions of the New England Journal of Medicine or the Massachusetts Medical Society.

Maybe you can help me find where in that it says that the NEJM agrees with and actually undertook the survey/study.:p

I neveer said they did. I merely pointed out to our resident commie that the survey is real even though O'Reilly falsely claimed who conducted it.

Attributing the claim to the NEJM (a very reputable journal that even the general populace has heard of and probably trusts) instead of some random company that, I'm assuming, only medical doctors may know about it, gives the survey an air of respectability and believability without people looking into how the survey was done.

I'm not saying the survey is slanted or has any inherent bias (I haven't looked into it at all, nor do I care to), but it's kind of hard to believe that 1/3 to nearly half of all doctors would retire early or quit because they may actually have to work more. It doesn't really pass a sniff test, but when you slap on "NEJM survey," it become a lot more believable. Hell, it worked for me until I read that they didn't have anything to do with it. :D
