Yes, I knew what you meant. Sure why they hell not. Done a great job the past 30-40 years.

We could get rid of Congress and let Obama be the Urinary Executive the right wanted...

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Robert Gibbs said:
Looking at jobs numbers...in first 3 months of '09 averaged 753,000 jobs lost - first 3 months of this year, average of 54,000 jobs created

That sucks.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

That sucks.

Jobs lost is the inverse of jobs created, right? I mean, it's not like they're two separate things.

And I really, really hope you continue to quote Fibbs in the near future. It gives you the credibility that you otherwise lack.

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

It looks like instead of saving $68 billion, the government takeover of the student loan program may actually increase the deficit by $52 billion. This according to the CBO.

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/63560

On the day he signed the bill the entire federal student loan system crashed...and that was before they increase the number of schools using the system by over 400%. Oh yeah, schools have until July 1 to convert over. They have had a choice for years and 85% chose to use the private system, wonder why that was? Think the cost of that systems expansion was reflected in the CBO estimate?

Where is our CBO defender to tell us they are never wrong???

They are using "fair value" method.

I'm not sure if this is the correct method but something needs to be done. It's much smaller but it's following the fannie/freddie model of guaranteeing the loans (privatize profits/ socialize risk).

Maybe the prudent method would be having a reasonable maximum loan instead of any amount. or ridiculous amount that we already have like in our house loans of $450k and $720k.

And far as I can tell the lenders make money in every scenario. so they are lending to everyone without income verification ... liar loans, etc...

Maybe gov contractors will do a better job in eliminating fraud like this? .

Prosecutors say Yould -- also known as Rachel Hall, her birth name -- took advantage of low-cost student loans and private student loan lenders. They say that between 2003 and 2006 while she lived in Japan, she falsified documents to borrow $680,000 beyond what she was entitled to.

The CBO article says they consider the Fair Value method to be more comprehensive. It takes market risks and administrative costs into consideration, whereas the FCRA method used to estimate the so called savings does not. The Fair Value method is more realistic.

in the previous setting the lender making the loan was also servicing the loan and had to meet thresholds for fraud and losses...they also spent the money to service the loan and fraud and losses mean more phone calls, more admin work etc. So they were incented to keep those occurences to a minimum. Now, a government organization will underwrite the loan, a third party will service and another will collect on delinquent loans...anybody with lending experience will tell you that is a recipe for rampant fraud and losses...take the over on both those numbers...they better order more red toner cartridges in DC

Re: Obama 10: Rahm it through.....even in the shower.

Obama seems to be mathematically challenged at times. Doesn't the look on his face at the end of this video remind you of Bush in some of his public gaffes?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_vu...eAU&feature=rec-LGOUT-exp_stronger_r2-2r-1-HM

What's frightening is the fact that the audience actually cheered him after those comments. Talk about the dumb masses.

The funniest part of all from that is his whining and crying about the "vitriol" from Limbaugh. What a wuss. Then he turns around and lays some on himself.

.

Like flying over Katrina or Rhode Island without stopping.I guess fund raising was more important.

Well the current system is all socialized losses and private profits. So I really don't have a problem with removing the banker/lender leeches even partially.

You might be right in total but if we look at medicaid/care the admin cost is much lower than private sector but fraud seems high... around $2billion losses .5-1% from fake medical bills.

I'm not even sure what the cap is on student guarantee is, but from the sound of it the rhode scholar borrowed $680,000 over her limit (with 2 accounts) so sounds like she borrowed around $1.2million. That is crazy.

I thought all those abortion clinic bombings/killings were done by republican pro-life.

And isn't most of the military style survial gun-toting groups republicans? like the oklahoma bomber mcveigh? or maybe they should be labeld anarchist, like those guys who don't want to pay taxes?
