I feel like I should warn Western fans about jcarter like I should warn Eastern fans about Dirty. And then I don't because it's fun.
That's an insult to Dirty
So what is the Notre Dame fans take on this?
Any on these boards anymore?
It is all about $$, geography, and fit. They should be in the B1G for all sports for all of those reasons.
My eyes can't roll enough.
I think it's pretty obvious that ND was only going to choose between the Nacho, the Big and HE. When the dominoes were falling four years ago, HE was the only one willing to bend on differences with the TV contracts. Obviously, the Big Ten had a change of heart.
Let's make one thing perfectly clear. Notre dame cares about rivalries when it suits them. The reason they chose hockey east is because they were allowed the TV deal that the NCHC wouldn't go for. Now, the big ten wants them but more importantly is allowing the tv contract. A convenient excuse for the frauds to tell everyone they did this because of rivalries.
Disagree strongly on fit for the non-hockey sports.
WOW, didn't see this coming,
I doubt HE will miss them.
J.D. - as for your, "And?" - keep repeating yourself and perhaps one day it will become true.
Now that there's a chance to revisit, the BTHC is a better deal because of the rivalries. Why is this difficult?
..In case you haven't noticed, it's not like we can ask ND fans on here. There aren't any. It's my opinion.
I never even said anything about the Gophers. I am glad you are happy with their performance over the past 5 years. I am too. The rest of the MN teams have been mopping the floor with them. I have been enjoying it.I'm a Wisconsin homer? Who knew!
Gophers have been doing just fine. Two Frozen Fours and a national championship game in the last 5 years. I'll take that any day.
Get your shots in now, because I think deep down you know there is no way the B1G stays down long. And that's not me suggesting they will be a conference head and shoulders above everyone else, but they certainly won't be a bottom feeder for long. They are already taking steps to rectify the issues and have the resources to do so.
People can't help falling for me, slappy.Hey mnstate - don't fall for Dipsy.
J.D. - as for your, "And?" - keep repeating yourself and perhaps one day it will become true.
It's possible to insult Dirty?

I don't need to go deep down. I never expected the Little Six to be a one bid conference. When the conference formed, I thought Minnesota would get an at large pretty much every year, Michigan 75% of the time, Wisconsin 50% and PSU, MSU and OSU might get the autobid once every 4 years. Now it has been Minnesota 66% of the time, Michigan 33%, Wisconsin 33% and PSU looks like they might make it next year.
The long and short of it is, you are so certain that the Wisconsin program is going to turn around and that the B1G isn't going to be bottom feeders for long, but the expectations were totally different when the conference was announced. The talk from the Gopher fans was that with all the TV money and exposure that they had and the other conferences didn't, the B1G was going to be THE major college hockey conference and UND wouldn't even be able to compete with them. Not only hasn't that happened, they have been a joke the past two years. And you want to talk about resources, but the Little Six teams have had the resources for the past 3 years and it hasn't helped. When they start getting more than one team into the tournament and actually win some games I will give the B1G some credit. But until then I guess they just have to take their lumps like every other team does when they aren't good.
It's quite obvious that Notre Dame makes poor decisions when choosing athletic conferences.Really? Granted, my sole interest in ND is football, but I don't think there's any question from every standpoint just involving football -- history, geography, recruiting profile, and program scope (and mission; and health) -- the B1G and ND are an obvious best fit, and the ACC is a really bizarre and artificial expedient in the service of I still don't know what.
Here you go slap shot.
And then he disappeared.I think we got a taste of that early into the season last year when your team had some nice upset wins. I recall someone going by Husky Fan Dan had quite a bit to say to the BC fans.
Yes, one fan. As mentioned before, I guess you haven't noticed. There aren't any ND fans on here. I do find it funny that the one we have heard from already backed up what I said.
