Re: Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

The Castleton broadcast was first rate both in terms of the play by play calls and the color commentator. The color guy's remarks, based on his experience as a referee, gave listeners some excellent insights to the game. Both members of that broadcast crew get a 8.73 based on a scale that has Norwich's Puck Voice & Co. at a 10. And both were far less partisan then other less experienced broadcasters. Nice work.

I turned of the audio on NSN and was able to hear George and Tanner - only problem was having to reload DEV several times as DEV buffered and the video didn't. When this happened, I muted DEV, turned on NSN, and the reloaded DEV at the whistle. A couple of time there were extended stretches of time when I didn't have DEV - but I heard George call the winner (he sounded a bit hoarse :) )

Struggled? Second Game on the road against a team who has ben playing well lately. Norwich out shot them 19-11 only allowed 1 shot in the second period. Norwich hit the post 3 times Could have ben a 4-1 game. Norwich got into penalty trouble in the third is the only reson Castleton had 6 shots. The Castleton golie played a good game to keep it close. Norwich beat Middlebury who beat Plattsburgh who beat Oswago

All I meant is, It was not easy! I really expected Norwich to win by more. You said it yourself, Norwich had 19 shots. I'm just saying I don't think the Plattsburgh win was enough to knock Oswego out of number one, but I don't vote and neither do you and we will have to see tomorrow. I would really like Norwich to come to Plattsburgh on Friday as No 1!!!

WCAX After you watch Hawks gingerbread video you might like to see the hockey highlights http://www.wcax.com/story/20237904/in-state-showdown

Gee I thought I had the right link to WCAX TV 3. But in the spirit of the holidays the gingerbread video is not a bad intro. Norwich/Castleton was a great college game for the fans to watch. The introduction of players at the start of the game with the smoke and Spartan movie audio was the best I have seen in college hockey.

Are there going to be any Plattsburgh/Norwich tickets for sale in Northfield or we going to have to get them at the door before the game?

On a side note, congrats to the Norwich Women's Rugby team on their THIRD national championship in two years (their second USA Rugby College 7's to add to the first , and last years 15's). Hey, their returning pic was taken in Kreitzberg Arena....

Norwich-Plattsburgh Class of 2013
The seniors will be playing their 9th game against each other this Friday night in Plattsburgh. Norwich holds the edge with a 4-2-2 record over the last three years. Norwich wins include 1 each @ Norwich, Middlebury Prime Link, Plattsburgh NCAA Quarters and Lake Placid NCAA Semi-Finals. Norwich 2 loses are both at Plattsburgh their sophomore years. Both ties have been at Norwich with one tie being won on a shoot-out for the Primelink title their freshman year. Norwich has won the bigger games including the NCAA Quarter overtime (controversial call) win at Plattsburgh their sophomore year. I still remember President Schneider banging on the glass and cheering his Cadets on. Stafford rink with its small ice surface (185x85) has been a tough place for the Cadets to play and this game could either way. Go Wick:)

Here is a new feature the Norwich Sports Information Dept. has added this year in Cadets Coaches Corner. We are doing weekly interviews with the head coaches of all 20 varsity sports here on campus and this week's episode chronicles Mike McShane and the men's hockey program. Enjoy!
