Thoughts are with Norwich Women's Hockey player Elizabeth Gemmiti, who is in Fletcher Allen recovering from injuries after being struck by a car. Police have indicated that it may have been the result of a DUI. People need to wise up. If you drink, call for a ride.

It would be nice if the Town, (and/or Norwich), installed/extended a sidewalk on Rte 12 out to the south. That road is treacherous for pedestrians walking south of the campus, especially in winter.

Looking at the damage on the vehicle that hit her (see here) it could have been far worse for her.

When at all possible, I try to synch DEV with the video for away games ... sometimes more successfully than others. I put the video on my computer and the audio on my iPhone, and since DEV is almost always ahead of the video, just pause the audio until it matches the game. As long as the video doesn't buffer, it works well. (Of course there was the Primelink ...grrrrr)

That has been been a bad stretch for a long, long time for pedestrians. Used to be one of my favorite running routes in the summer, and even then drivers don't pay a lot of attention.

Working on the porgram for the 2014 Northfield Savings Bank Holiday Tournament and an interesting fact that I didn't realize until now....

Norwich has failed to win its own tournament three out of the last four years, including losing it the year it won the national championship in 2010. NU tied Potsdam before losing in a shootout.

Your past four Times Argus/NSB Tournament champions.

2013 - Neumann
2012 - Norwich
2011 - Manhattanville
2010 - Potsdam

They won twice as many Primelinks in that time frame. The good part of the TimesArgus is that the invited teams are not there just to provide a win, they are quality opponents.

This year, there seems to be one exception to that rule -- looks like MSOE is having a horrible year.
