Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Something in the Cadet preview sort of stood out. Norwich's checking line of Mitch Byrne, Lane Harbor, and Anthony Flaherty would appear to have a lot of offensive potential. Anthony Flaherty is a proven scorer for Norwich and Lane Harbor was the leading scorer for the Melville Millionairers (SJHL) with 24 goals and 18 assists for 40 points last year.

That and Brenden Heinrich wasn't mentioned...

Prez, does that have any effects on this years schedule?

That may have sounded like a dumb question, but I thought UNE was joining the Commonwealth Conference? I guess that it isn't until 2016-17 after reading the other thread (Off season banter).

Anyways, I am very excited to watch the game on NSN and hear George Commo call the game. Living in Florida, I miss the ability to go to the home games like I did for the past 18 years or so. Thanks to everyone who makes it possible to be connected to the Norwich hockey community from afar. Good luck Cadets. I'll be watching!

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Norwich men's and women's hockey officially form New England Hockey Conference with old ECAC East members:

Does this mean we aren't defending champions? Is there a new set of league records, or is the record book going to be a legacy from the old ECAC East?

Okay, appears Niezgoda is not in tonight's lineup. What's his situation?

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Anybody else having issues with buffering on the Norwich game. I also can't get WDEV's coverage of the game.

Can anyone tell who's on what line and the defensive pairs. Appears we are only playing 5 D. What gives?

Buffering quite often. I hope its the NSN problem that they'll fix as time progresses. Working out the early season bugs.(I hope)

Buffering is at a ridiculous level. It took a minute show 10 seconds of play.

NU should get a refund for this telecast

Amazing that the "Buffering Problem" continues in this highly technological world. I hope that NSN is a customer-centric company and will quickly correct this dismal performance.

I second that thought! Did any of you get to watch the last 6 minutes? What happened?

I guess each team scored :). I think it was 2-0 with about a minute left, so I would guess one EA goal and one EN goal, but I'm guessing. Curious to see if I was right when I look at the box score.

Edit - for once I was right

Third Period
Nichols-1 Paul Prescott (Ben Campbell) EAG 17:41
Norwich-3 Tyler Piacentini (unassisted) ENG 19:47

The buffering was so bad I wasn't sure about the time left when I saw a 2-0 score, so this says the last 2:20 must have been intense.

Sorry to hear about the issues tonight folks ... never heard a thing about it on my end until I got home and found your posts. I'll contact TPLB at both locations and make sure we are all set next home weekend. Really surprises me though, because we have been virtuallyissues free for a long time.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

As to the game Norwich rotated 5 defensemen all night and I think playing a man short they tired a little at the end ... Credit to Nichols ... a good team that took it to Norwich in the third. To each his own, but for me it is better to start with a tough one than a walkover. Win in the books ... some good signs from the forwards ... good goaltending from Ostepchuk and Reichenbach ... and the five d-men got the job done ... on to Maine!

What happened to the 6th defenseman? I thought he was a freshman, dressed and was in the warmup.
