Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Comes from too long being prepared for an 8 team conference (when the Saints didn't look like they were changing) .

I always type AHCA and ACHA wrong. My left index finger is faster than my right sometimes.:(

They haven't doing much to support it, and the attitude towards it seems to be getting worse.

Are there any possible teams out there that could possible join the ECAC E. The UNE decision was a big surprise to me since it appeared with there new rink the school was trying to break into the top teams in New England. The ECAC Northeast (CCC) and MASCAC leagues are good but like Salem State UNE to going to drop down a fair amount in competition. PSU is the one school that I would like to join the ECAC E since the school is very serious with sports sort of like Castleton. St. A's with there new D3 status should be a positive coming out of all this.

I don't think the conference switch is going to affect UNE nearly as negatively as you think. With their new coach, who made Nichols into a legitimate team last year, I think the Nor'Easters are still on their way to becoming a very good New England team. This new CCC league is far from a joke. Endicott is no slouch and will be coming in guns blazing.

Add in Wentworth and Curry who were both at one point top 10/top 15 caliber teams and you've got the makings for a really solid league.

Still leaves the conference down one team ... they will not let that happen ... someone (who???) will be joining. We will have St. Mike's AD Chris Kenney on our show ... TheReally Big Sports Show ... to talk about this and other issues (D-2/D-3?) Tuesday morning at 9 on NSN Radio.

Couldn't listen but any insight into what he said>? personally think St Mike's should fully go down to D3 they are the only school in their D2 conference who hasn't used scholarships outside of basketball and puts them at real disadvantage and it would just make more sense given the makeup of the school and would love to see them develop some sort of meaningful rivalries with the other local teams in hockey but maybe other sports too. Read NPR article a few weeks ago talking about it and they make it sound like the administrators think they should join the NESCAC with is higly delusionals.

Cadets's first game is fast approaching - 23 Oct. Any insight into team chemistry and how the new recruits are fitting in and responding to the speed of play? Realizing it's early, but anyone standing out and/or looking like they'll contribute immediately?

Official practices start Oct. 18. Unless people have gone to Montpelier, no one but the team has seen each other skate.

I thought the 15th was the start?? or is that captains practice or pink bunny skate??

So in the course of your duties, have you had the opportunity for idle chat with some of the players?

Unfortunately been too wrapped up in the fall sports to have much time for puck. That will be changing though soon!

I'll see if I can get down to a practice in a couple weeks

The season is fast approaching! Here's a little something to hold you all over.

Back in the day, when there were no facemasks and redlines, I helped make the ice at the Walker (Clarkson) Arena. Interestingly, we used less water then than what you currently use, but probably close to what Platty currently uses.

back in my day at The Golden Romney Fieldhouse,Oswego for those outside Oz, the players were charged with coming to the rink at all hours to water the ice:D,refreshments were always at hand:p

And I bet you used more water to make ice @ Romney than they currently do @ the Campus Center

Big disappointment for me.......I haven't seen a live Norwich game in 4 years and finally talked my wife into staying north for it instead of taking off for Florida our usual time. Just what is the Maroon and Gold annual scrimmage? Not a game, but at least must showcase the players, especially the new ones. What is the format and is it long enough to stay here in the cold and travel over to Northfield...... Or just a fancy practice? Remember I'm 80.

Sorry NU56,

We're disappointed too. Unfortunately game couldn't happen due to a scheduling miscommunication.

The Maroon & Gold game is a fancy practice as you put it. Not a real game, practice situations with power play, penalty kill, 4v4, 3v3 situations etc.

The new players will be suited up though!

Thanks........Does it last a couple of hours or is it long enough to travel over from the Plattsburgh area for an old
geezer?
