Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

What fortune to be able to bring both Thieda and Currier aboard the coaching staff. Having met both, what a positive.

Well, D-III allows 1 paid assistant. You can have an many volunteer assistants as you want (see Mazzoleni, Mark)

I am going to predict that this will be the last year the Cadets will be competitive in the ECAC East ;)

I'm right behind you on that one! There is no way they can or will win the ECAC-E title in 16-17.

Alright....so now I'm interested. Which division will we be joining?

Look like UNE is jumping to the new Commonweath Conference ... ECAC East or whatever they are going to call it is down a team ....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Still leaves the conference down one team ... they will not let that happen ... someone (who???) will be joining. We will have St. Mike's AD Chris Kenney on our show ... TheReally Big Sports Show ... to talk about this and other issues (D-2/D-3?) Tuesday morning at 9 on NSN Radio.

Not sure what you mean by "down a team"? They have enough for the autobid, and looks like St A's is going DIII. Do you mean an odd number of teams? I have heard St Mikes may either be out of this league (into the DII league), or might consider going AHCA.

(and no, I cannot cite a source(s))

From a 10 team conference to a 9 team (sans UNE) conference.

ACHA. The other one is the coaches' association and gets frequently mistyped with the other one.

And it would be a darn shame if St. Mikes drops varsity hockey.

EDIT: How close was the train wreck to campus?

Are there any possible teams out there that could possible join the ECAC E. The UNE decision was a big surprise to me since it appeared with there new rink the school was trying to break into the top teams in New England. The ECAC Northeast (CCC) and MASCAC leagues are good but like Salem State UNE to going to drop down a fair amount in competition. PSU is the one school that I would like to join the ECAC E since the school is very serious with sports sort of like Castleton. St. A's with there new D3 status should be a positive coming out of all this.
