Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

You should declare at the beginning of the round if it is a practice round or an "official" round, then you eiether post the score or not. My favorite quote on golf from our club pro a number of years ago, was," If you can't play well, play fast." (You can tell the season is over for us as we are talking golf!)

An article in the Guidon about the club hockey team regarding the success that it's seeing and, more importantly, the support that it's getting from the student body: http://thenorwichguidon.org/2016/03/norwich-club-hockey-team-is-now-undefeated-two-years-running/

I've said it before, but while the club team compliments the varsity team in some ways (giving more students the chance to play hockey, for example), it also poses a challenge in that the Corps of Cadets in many ways feels more affinity to the club team than it does the varsity. As I said before, my senior year the club games became the big games on campus because you could go to Kreitzberg and get crazy with your friends while watching your rook buddies, cadre, and fellow Corps members play hockey and get into a few fights. This is in contrast to the varsity team where most Corps members don't know who the hockey players are around campus. When the school is 2/3 Corps that's a problem.

In short, since I've graduated the varsity team has grown in personal relevance to me as the Corps/civilian divide has dissipated in my post-undergrad life. But having more Niezgodas and Salvuccis on the team is a way to start to bridge that gap and grow student (i.e. Corps) interest in the varsity program.

Got to agree a few more members of the corps on the team would certainly help ... so would a few more games when the corps ... AND the civilian students for that matter .... were on campus would be big too. I mean 17 home games this season ... only six of them when the students were around? Communication and Cooperation ... need more of both!

And you can no longer use solo rounds to record a handicap score. ×÷#/%=€¥£*/!÷ USGA!

I don't know why the USGA assumes people who play rounds with total strangers who don't see what they post will be any more honest than somebody who manages to get a chance to squeeze in a round but doesn't get paired with anyone. If I'm going to sandbag I can do it just as well playing with somebody I'll never see again as I can playing by myself.

Any news about the Men's Hockey Banquet held recently? I am interested in finding out the most improved player and captains for next year. Women's results were posted on the Norwich site on Facebook but not the Men's. Thanks.

Mens captains are the same as last year minus Niezgoda obviously.

MVP was Piacentini
Rookie was Evans
Most Improved might have been Ostepchuk? Can't remember I wasn't there.

NU Recruit
I see where Norwich is getting a much needed shooter for next season. May be the start of our own miracle on ice!

Where do you see that Norwich is getting a much needed shooter? Can you share your source?

Sorry to be late as I am just getting settled back north for the summer. He is Todd Jackson, CT Oilers EHL, all time goal scorer. I don't know how to post the site, but I'm sure you can search and find it. I don't really know the quality of the team or league, but he sounds good and appears to be a step in the right direction for Norwich.

The lack of info on Norwich commitments for this coming year is starting to drive me nuts. I know Coach McShane has always preferred to keep it under wraps, but it appears to me that these other commitments are being released by the junior teams/leagues, rather than the schools themselves.

Norwich NEVER announces its incoming class(es) until the students are officially enrolled. We've learned to live with it.

I know this. That's what I wrote in my post. My whole point is, why aren't we hearing anything from the junior leagues/teams? Very interesting...
