Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Tickets all set, heading down south on Saturday! Hope to see plenty of maroon and gold! Expecting to see the camo sweaters despite many peoples distaste for them, think there is a bit of superstition surrounding them. Still waiting on a third jersey that ties in some of the old time Norwich designs!

I love the camos and I'm responsible for stating the game and don't usually have much of a issue at all with them. To your second point, Bicentennial celebration year. 2018-19 season.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

$50 deal for bus, dinner, and ticket is a great deal. Dartmouth Coach from Lebanon to Boston is $47. Will someone tell us when the bus is a definite go. But I very much appreciate NU offering the fan bus.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Just want to wish NU the very best of luck. We all hope that a run in the right direction is in order here. At times they play with greatness. Now would be a good time to play that way. If they can play each game like they did against Plattsburgh, no one can get in there way. I hope they can play a little better than they did against the Spartans. That game could have gone either way for quite a while. Good luck and may every one here in the NU spin room have something good to spin come Sunday.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

Because they are bleeping impossible to see the numbers on ...!

I don't need no flipping numbers... I just listen to George Commo's audio and he tells me all I need to know. :D

Ok, just kidding. I agree... I'd be willing to pitch in with a donation to burn the camos unis if they would never come back again. I actually liked the old uniforms with the gold trim before the light tan trim, but I digress....

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I can not see the numbers on the video stream, I prefer our traditional white sweaters

I also think, much like Charlie Weis killed Notre Dame's green football jerseys, the camo loses some of its appeal when worn so frequently.

I agree. They also seemed to be a bit cursed a season or two ago, I'm surprised they keep bringing them back. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them shelved for the playoffs.

They won an ECAC east title last year with them....last year was the first year with the current design for the camos.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I can see wearing the camos at home. On the road I would think there might be some confusion on the players trying to determine which team a player is on considering both teams are wearing light colored jerseys. Case in point might be the NCAA Amherst game in the last 5 minutes when the Cadets could not win a face off and if they did they were nit able to pass the puck to a team player or even clear the puck.

Good analogy. I appreciate the nod to the school's military heritage. But, I also like branding and tradition - white home and maroon away. Breaking out the camos once every blue moon for a big game would be a preferable alternative.

Re: Norwich 2015-16 - 17 straight ECAC East titles and counting....

I'd have to go back and look, but isn't it a NCAA rule that you must wear a solid color?

Edit: I stand somewhat corrected. It states dark color -

Jerseys
- Each player and each goalkeeper listed in the lineup of each
team shall wear an individual identifying number at least 10 inches
high on the back of the jersey and at least 4 inches high on the front or
on both sleeves. The visiting team shall wear dark-colored jerseys and
stockings; the home team shall wear light-colored jerseys and stockings.
Uniform numbers must be a light colored number on dark jerseys and a
dark colored number on light jerseys.
All players of each team shall dress
uniformly in that day’s game jersey.
Light-colored jerseys (e.g., white, gold, yellow or light blue) may be worn
during the regular season by the visiting team only when the teams have
agreed before the game. If the teams are unable to agree, the visiting team
will wear dark-colored jerseys.
The number of the jersey shall contrast the overall jersey color.
PENALTY—Bench minor to offending team

Allow me to preface this by stating, as you all know, I am a passionate fan of Norwich hockey...
I find it humorous that, of all the teams at Norwich, our hockey programs wear the camo uniforms. Of approximately 56 players between men's and women's hockey, I believe 2 players are Corps students.

Curious if some of the fan feedback regarding the jerseys ever works its way to the coach and AD? What do the players think? My guess is that someone in leadership likes the camouflage pattern.
