A really good video on Cadets hockey on the WDEV Website put together by a real up and comer in our business Jasper Goodman, and WDEV's Director of Digital Services Jay Austin.

Happy Holidays from Norwich University Athletics:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-ul3WtJcY4

Great holiday video, in fact, the media coming out of SI has been great all year.

Most people probably didn't see it but the local Times Argus (protected site) had a story about Norwich Hockey which was mostly consisted of an interview with coach McShane. He talked a little about the three losses which was the most losses in a row in 20 years and the overall improvement of D3 hockey. He discussed the injury situation at Norwich but gave no specifics when the guys would be back.

Looking forward to the holiday tournament which which appears to have very strong teams this year. The Trinity/Manhattanvelle the first day is one I wouldn't miss.

Prez can you tell me if second semester players are allowed to play this weekend or wait for the start of the second semester? Any news if the injured players will return?

Dean and Will have returned to practice.

In orher news.....

Now seems like as good as time as any to announce this since its in the program for this weekend...

Oswego State is coming to the Northfield Savings bank holiday tournament next year hosted by Norwich! Williams and Nazareth round out the field!

Should be a great tournament. Games are 12/30 and 12/31

Looks like Northfield will be the place to be at the end of 2016! Any idea of the matchups?

Is Norwich going to play at the Campus Center, Oswego State the following year? Oswego normally has a holiday tournament the same time of year. A home and away tournament would be good for the fans with all the great teams involved.

I would think no, due to the NSB tourney being an annual event

Oswego still has their holiday tournament next year. It's the following weekend.

With the new/current league and all the moving parts, would/could Norwich afford another NC game without losing their tournament, Primelink, Plattsburgh / Middlebury rival games? I know there was talk of teams coming and going. Would it even fit?

It is anyone's guess how many league games the ECAC E will have in 2 years. Will there be 8, 9, or 10 teams in the league. If I was to guess I would say 9 or maybe 8. UNE I believe is leaving after this year and no replacement has been announced.

While the general public may not know, certain powers that be might have a better grasp on the possible situation (especially since 1 team was already slated as a "replacement")

The schedule for 2017-18 will be determined this summer once we know what is happening with Saint Michael's. My guess is that should Saint Michael's not drop to D-3, you'll see the NEHC go with 8 teams starting that season.

Thank you Joe. As a pre-1970 graduate (1967), I have never liked "Essayons", as it seemed to be revisionist history to me. My NU Ring is imprinted with "I Will Try". Glad it's been cleared up...

I have heard some stuff that supports this position but I didn't want to say anything until we see what happens this summer. St. A's going to D3 and St. Mike's saying in D2 has created some issues for the league. I few Western New York games would sure look good on the schedule. When St. A's goes D3 there won't be much of a D2 league.

Yes, thank you for that story to clear it up. Now for another assignment...............where did Wick come from? I never heard it or saw it in print when I graduated in 1956. Maybe someone out there knows.
