Northeastern 2021-22: Our Doggie Dish Runneth Over?

Devon Levi has the second highest save percentage in NCAA history right now. Only Jimmy Howard's legendary 2003-04 season is higher and he only played like 25 games that year. The only other season statistically that matches this is Ryan Miller's Hobey Baker season where he played 40 games at a .950% and won the championship. Obviously then there's strength of schedule debates etc. but Levi has been historically good this year.

If what you are saying is accurate he should absolutely win the Hobey. I don't know what can be expected of goalies if Levi doesn't win it this year.

I'll settle for HE POTY. They were outshot by 160 over the course of the season and won the league. Part of that is the Northeastern long-standing mindset that prioritizes quality over quantity but they won plenty of games where they weren't the better team but Levi stole the game. Solid goalie run at NU over the last 15 years with Thiessen, Primeau and Levi but Devon is clearly far ahead of those guys.

As far as recent Hockey East goalies go, Swayman and Knight were obviously great and we're better pro prospects but I think I'd take Levi to win one game in college. He's been that good.

Also, if shouldn't be forgotten he'd be a Vermont Catamount right now if Sneddon hadn't botched that situation.

I thought I had that debacle permanently erased from my memory-until now. Thanx.

Would you want to trade that for BU's 3 OT loss in the 1991 national championship? A lot of folks over on Comm Ave have had to live with that one.

I think the future of the NU program is very very bright. Lots of reasons for you guys to be optimistic right now.

Uconn is looking pretty good, NU was outplayed in the second.

NU is outplayed a lot of times but that's where Levi comes into play. UConn definitely deserving of the lead. Not easy to win the RS and tourney title in same year.

NU also doesn't seem to be displaying any urgency. Too clinical in a lot of ways.

I spent $240 on 4 seats but the better team won. NU will struggle against bigger teams and if LEVI isn't 100% on, they don't have the O. Great season all things considered, but they won't be making the NCAA..they did win 25 games for the 2nd best record in their history not enough but things are looking up. See you all in October be safe.

Got the Team the can’t pass and doesn’t hustle earlier enough tonight. Saw them off and on all year, just hate to see it in the games that matter

I exhaled after the Minny State score was posted; then curled up in the fetal position as the debacle in Mankato played out. Then exhaled from all orifices simultaneously. But moving on, most of the bracket prognosticators have NU in Worcester next weekend vs Western Michigan (Fri/Sun). Best draw and location I can think of so hope those crystal balls are right.

OMG..that sucked. This was my 4th time watching them bow out in the 1st round since the ND loss in the Frozen in 82. They started too slow..and in the end lost by an inch, the save that wasn't a save. Still the better team won. Man this one sucked. See you all in October. Not sure what we can do to make it to the next rung..however we just aren't big and physical enough, today our style frustrated a very good team but we are only working when we are firing on all cylinders. We need to play bigger, we look slow early and often.

Good goalie, good defense but lacks scoring. Decent team but was never a real threat at advancing far in NCAA tournament. Losing Harris and McDonough will be massive losses.
