Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

You the man GO CATS! I appreciate the post. I called the Verizon box office and they didn't really have a clue on what was going on. Thanks again

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

I was told that earlier this week the student tickets were gone so maybe that's why they aren't advertising them.
At the time I posted I had gone back through releases on the website and facebook as far back as selection day, I just took a few minutes to try and look further back than that and still saw nothing - it is possible that they removed the info after selling out.

About the fan bus... I know UNH has done this in the past and people didn't use them. Maybe that's why they don't do it anymore.
Posted to Athletics' Facebook (name removed - not mine)
Are you guys going to have some sort of shuttle deal to the Verizon? Our Wildcats need us. I was at the Garden and it was pitiful. Most of us were on Spring Break and it affected the atmosphere. Merrimack fans made us look like jabroni(e)s. You know they are going to be out in force, because Merrimack is fairly close to Manchester. I know it would be a lot of work, but the playoffs are what matters, yet our students are never able to support them when they need it.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

INCH's Annual NCAA Tournament Team Haikus

I've picked out the NE Regional ones for you lazy folk:

Miami
INCH salutes talent
Refers to Miami girls
Haiku trend maintained

Merrimack
Corny ’90s song
Can be the tournament theme
“Return Of The ‘Mack”

Notre Dame
Freshmen leading scorers
Irish took cue from Good Book
“Little child shall lead”

New Hampshire
Who cares if they host?
It’s not as if UNH
Will ever win this

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

What's the Ref situation for the national tourney? Will they pull refs from all the leagues? Will we be subject to benedetto?

You won't get a ref from your own league in any tournament game. We'll see WCHA and/or ECAC officials in Manchester.

S. Hansen and benedetto are doing the UMD/Union game right now in b'port

I'm just fine with that. HEA refs blow. How are the others?

Worse
way worse.

I've always thought that if two teams from the same league met in the tournament, they should have refs from their league. They know the teams and the teams are familiar with the refs. I'd much rather see Gravel and Hansen than ECAC or WCHA refs

This is a good idea in theory, but this would be harder to plan for. With the way it is now, the NCAA can just send WCHA/ECAC refs to Manchester and know they're set for whatever happens in the first games. If they were to have an all CCHA or Hockey East final, the travel logistics would become a lot more complicated/expensive if they wanted the game to be reffed by league guys.

No question about it. Its not practical (though in the Frozen Four when there were four WCHA teams, why not have all WCHA officials? And I wish we had Hockey East officials in 99 when there were two games featuring HEA teams, instead we got a clown show)

It's game day! Finally!

Some CRAZY games yesterday. I'm just hoping CC used up all the "underdog" magic for the weekend. :p

Scary, but I think it's true. Of course, it may just be that all refs suck. Except Fitzy. He never made a bad call. Ever. Or so I'm told.

I'm wondering if that was an upset or not.

The ECAC refs are god awful. And the way WCHA fans carry on, I wouldn't go there either. AH refs aren't much better. So ummm, yeah. Worrying about the officials is pointless.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

OK you yahoo's... We're (3 of us anyway) coming up to root for UHN and Mack.
Git'er done... we need Hockey East represented at the FF.

Go Cats!
Go Warriors!

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

5....... Go Mack ! Go 'Cats!;)

It's hard to hate UNH fans, definitely the most civil fanbase I've encountered to date. I'm rooting for UNH/Mack in the next round.

Anybody wanna put in a group order of CC jerseys?
