Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Miami 22.9
UND 23.8
Union 24.9
Notre Dame 26.0
Western 26.6
Yale 26.7
Duluth 27.3
UNO 27.8
MC 28.1
BC 28.4
CC 29.1
RPI 29.2
Denver 29.4
Air Force 30.3
UNH 31.9
Michigan 33.5

Shot allowed per game.

With Miami it isn't just that their goalies are good but you just don't get shots.

Also I found it interesting that each of the top 4 is separated by about 1 shot per game from the one above, the bottom 2 are 1.6. Basically UNH's and Michigan's goalies are the hardest working pair coming into the tournament (the D in front of them sucks the most).

UNH only allowed 22 shots on goal tonight while Miami allowed 27. Are those the kind of numbers you were looking for? ;)

Congratulations to Miami on a terrific season. You'll keep knocking on the door until it eventually opens for you.
Felt bad for Coach Blasi as he walked off the ice. He runs an honorable program.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Anyone know if they'll be reducing ticket prices for tonights game?

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

I'm sure there are plenty of cheap tickets around North Andover

This MC fan/alum will be there...I do have one extra ticket at a reduced price ($25) if anybody in interested...either call my cell 978-697-4482 or shoot me an email at mchockey98@aol.com if you are looking for 1 ticket for tonight. Ticket is in 125, Row S, down in the corner...good site line...so let me know...planning on being in Manchester for dinner with friends around 6.

Or, if you live in the Merrimack Valley, I can meet up with you quick before I head up. I'll be in Lawrence around 4:30-5:00 visiting family.

You know Merrimack didn't have nearly as many fans there as I had expected. They definately had more at the Hockey East.

I was thinking the same thing, they were loud, then againt had the students and band right behind me, but thought they would have more. Hopefully some come back tonight and root for the Cats.

What ever band they rented was pretty fun to watch.

Oh they were definitely loud. I could only stay for the 1st period but sat in 119 for that period and they were quite noticeable. Good for them for having a nice turnout (although I was expecting it to be a tad bit larger, probably due to ticket prices).

Watched the end of the game when I got back and I think ESPN mentioned University of Dayton which is what someone had mentioned to me back in Boston but I thought it wasn't true, isn't that Dayton, OH, seems like quite a trip to support 'Mack, but good for them if that is true.

Merrimack did hire them for the Quarterfinal games against Maine, then brought thier band to the Garden I think

I was under the impression that Merrimack had hired a local high school band for the Garden last weekend.
Dayton's women's basketball team played in Lowell for the A10 tournament, not sure if that had anything to do with their band playing at Merrimack or not..

You're right, the Methuen High band was at the Garden (Go Rangers!).
Good luck to the 'Cats tonite. Represent!

Any confirmation on what band we heard last night? Was it the school's actual band?

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

According to the announcers tonight, St Paul is "Minnesota-Duluth's back yard."

That's a BIG back yard, considering Duluth is about 2.5 hours away. I know the WCHA schools are not close, for the most part, and exaggerations are rampant, but still.......

Somewhere Barry Melrose is saying "you can walk from Duluth to Minnesota"

He already used that line with UNH and Yale in their respective regionals. As much as I hate UND, a UMD-UND final would be pretty cool.

BTW, Merrimack has to be kicking themselves right now...
