Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

It's hard to hate UNH fans, definitely the most civil fanbase I've encountered to date. I'm rooting for UNH/Mack in the next round.

Anybody wanna put in a group order of CC jerseys?

i'll pass on the CC jersey:mad:, i saw enough of them in my sleep (nightmare) last night and thecomicboyguy, i'd say that was an upset, ya think?.............it at least upset me!:o

p.s. who hates UNH fans?:confused:

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Sorry 'bout your nightmares, Sterlippo. :( those are never fun.

The Wildcats have to start this game off on top. If you look at last year's game against Cornell, UNH was dominating for the first period. Even the first shift, they had great opportunities and control of the play. I am hoping for a great start, and obviously a great finish for the win. Go CATS!!!!

UNH and the Mack both win

Hey, the ESPNU feed is about 2.5 seconds ahead of espn3...

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Congrats to UNH! I haven't seen too many teams control us the way they did today. Great team defense. Good luck the rest of the way.

I for one am a little dissappointed as I wanted Michigan to have another crack at Miami. Oh well, good season RedHawks.

Thanks redhawk95. Good call Walrus. And, Chris from Lee, NH, this was another upset win today, maybe not as dominating as CC over BC last night, but an upset nevertheless. For the third year in a row, UNH seniors have shown up to play in the NCAA regionals, but it was freshman Goumas who answered in the first four minutes of the game, and DiGi who was great throughout. Hope that the Cats have something left in the tank for tomorrow. Go Cats!

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

One half of HE is in, good job UNH, Miami D was awful, turnover city. UNH does a great job on those, ask Maine:D

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Tough one for Miami. I haven't seen the RedHwaks that rattled in a game since the Ohio State series. All credit to UNH.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Poetic justice would be for Notre Dame to be destroyed 11-0 tomorrow versus UNH. After their 'win' tonight, no one wants to see Notre Dame go any further. I don't know how you characterize that win over Merrimack as anything other than 'lucky.'

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

Ugh...poor Merrimack. They controlled half of the game and most of OT and lost on some fluky goals. Cannata was excellent and I'm sure he'd like that second goal back that went through/off his glove. Although, those fluky goals seemed to happen because of slight breakdowns in Merrimack's defense. The third goal, Merrimack just looked tired and was not hustling to get the puck out of their zone. The last goal, the Merrimack D-man didn't think the ND guy was much of a threat and just tried to lightly carry it out from behind the net. But then the ND guy basically just tapped it, Cannata didn't expect it, and right off the pads and in.

Good luck to UNH tomorrow to try and keep Hockey East represented. This game hopefully tired out Notre Dame.

Re: Northeast Regional: Miami, Merrimack, Notre Dame, UNH

What a horrific loss. Came out an dominated the start of OT, then to lose like that. Credit to ND for forcing play in the 3rd, but Canatta struggled all night, didn't handle shots cleanly and that 2nd goal was just plain bad. I think I would have rather lost 8-4. :( 3 fluke goals (luck of the Irish?). GO UNH!!!
