Re: NMU Wildcats 2015-2016 Season Thread

He was. Both on NMU radio and by the home media. Nice to see Minn St call it straight on the 3 stars. Tolvanen was one and Shine also got one.

A 3-2 OT loss to Alaska-Fairbanks was not a good way to start the current NMU 6-game home stand.... 2300 attendance at The Berry tonite for the game.... NMU is now (8-9-6) on the season....

Some friends and I will be visiting in two weeks when UMD comes to town.

Good bars to hit up that are not named Blackrocks (we'll be there for sure)?

Best places to eat?

Best place to get a pasty?

We're going with an NMU grad so she'll help guide us around but wanted to see what you kind folks say on here. But to Houghton a ton of times but only driven through Marquette a few times. Excited to experience another city in the UP.

Oh and what beer is served at the Berry?

Portside/Vango's for pre-game. Casa for a fantastic dinner.

Davyd, your last drink location recommendation should have come with an " * " attached to it. :p ;)

You're all making me wish I could make a trip up to MQT soon. :(

Based on Google Maps it looks like a dive bar of dive bars.

Out of 60 Division 1 schools, that's about right for a .500 team. As you pointed out, 9-9-6, almost dead middle of the PWR, and a goals for of 58 and a goals against of 57. The team isn't terrible, but they need to make hay with the very light travel schedule to end this season. An appearance in St. Paul isn't out of this team's realm. Anything beyond that and they need to play like we've seen from them on the Saturday nights against Ferris and UAF. After Mankato two weeks ago, Ferris is the furthest trip and that's not until Valentines Day weekend.

This team is on the verge of breaking out in a great way. They just need to do it.
