Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

One thing I don't understand is, why people are mad about having their names and addresses listed as being gun owners. That is basically a database of houses NOT to break into. I want people to know I have guns, so they won't mess with my ****.

1) Can't be home 24/7. Guns are a VERY attractive target for theft. They can be sold on the black market for big money or can be used in other crimes. How do you think the thugs in Chicago get their guns?

2) Alternatively, it's also a map of the people who DON'T have guns. Go rob them instead.

Barney Fife (and friends) arrest 85-year old at midnight, pull him out of bed, and take him to jail. His crime? He struck some other a*shat with his cane! People in Denver may be worried about the next Carrot Top showing up at a sneak preview in Aurora, but they're feeling safe, knowing that DPD is rounding up all those dangerous 85-year olds.

Assault with a dead weapon?

Apparently, Common Sense 101 is not being taught in any police academy today. Good grief.

I would guess that this is the work of one a-hole chief/captain/lieutenant (I don't know enough about police ranks to know which it would actually be) on a power trip, having his/her officers do this. It only takes one dip****, and they're everywhere.

In virtually all of these "what the. . ." situations, including this one and the one at Denny's, somebody a little higher up the food chain wonders just how stupid people can be. It's always a good question to ask: "How is this going to look on the 10 O'clock news?"

Meanwhile, Denny's has apologized--ban lifted.

I'd still stay away for a little while, just to get the point across.

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

The only thing worse, IMO, is IHOP. Lethal.

IHOP has some of the slowest service I've ever seen.

The one I went to in Cheyenne took one full hour to bring us our food. Granted, there were about 10 of us, but still.

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

The gun carnage continues in Chicago. And nothing proposed by Diane Feinstein, IMO, will do anything to reduce the casualties. Neither will suspending 6-year olds who "shoot" finger guns. Or buying back all the violent video games. And all the other silly stunts. None of it will help. We need a much broader, more comprehensive approach to the problem. Dollars to donuts, we won't get it.

Full disclosure: a 19-year old who recently was graduated from my high school died this week. His family had moved him to get the advantage of a better education. And in the bloodless words of the Chicago cops: he "wasn't believed to be the target of the shooting." 19. Working. Going to junior college. Good kid. Gunned down by "accident." Dead.

I remember my last visit to an IHOP like it was yesterday (actually about a decade ago). The "steak" with my steak and eggs looked, smelled and tasted like something recovered from a dumpster. Never again. Ever.

Well....you ordered steak.....at IHOP. :p
Some would say that they could see that coming. ;)

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

If you order anything much past scrambled eggs and toast, you're asking for trouble.

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

What in the hell is on at 4:35 AM that is worth watching in the first place? The Chef Tony knive infomercials can't be THAT riveting...
