Re: Nice Planet 2010

honestly, there would have to be a way to get to him that would make it look like it wasn't a direct assassination. Maybe spray the area around his compound with anthrax. That or shart having our commandos go in and putting the head of his favorate goat in bed with him, Godfather style.

I don't know, the guy is clearly a delusional scumbag, but are we sure the alternative is any better? If he dies in anything close to suspicious circumstances, don't you think that the religious leaders of Iran would use that to justify doing something completely insane?

You can never be sure with moonbats. However the implicit message, once they've figured out who did it is: "there's more where that came from." Seemed to have worked on Khadaffy after Reagan came this close to putting out his lights.

True, might be better off just implying that we could take him out at any time we wanted too, just to make him sweat. Several red laser dots coming from almost nowhere all of the time, maybe even a personal meeting with him somewhere where the POTUS can show him exactly where most of the USA nukes are pointed at, maybe show him some footage of him making sweet lovin with his wife or something even juicier, and all with a big red button present.

if you've already made that leap then they'll make that leap regardless... its just a matter of choosing the convenient time.

Personally, I'd rather have them shoot their load when they're not ready.

Yeah, I agree with that.

My point was: I trust our CIA and other intelligence organizations. Maybe that's foolish, but I really do. So, I have to believe that if the CIA believed it was both possible and in our best interests for us to take out Crazypants Mahmoud, they would have done so by now. But they haven't, so either they feel the time isn't right, or they feel it's impossible to do so right now.

Re: Nice Planet 2010

We need to act more like the KGB when the situation warrants. Someone else posted this the other day (apologies for not remembering who) and I've also posted it. It has to do with a Soviet "diplomat" being kidnapped in Beirut, then suddenly released. Turns out the KGB kidnapped some male relatives of the terrorists and turned them in to capons. For some reason or another, the thugs lost interest in snatching any more soviet nationals. Hmmmmmm.

"Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Kassim Osgood was pistol-whipped in an attack when the ex-boyfriend of a 19-year-old woman he was visiting confronted them, according to a report on the Florida Times-Union’s website."

Visiting? Visiting? Yeah, ... sure, ... visiting.

So that's what you kids call it these days. ;)

Re: Nice Planet 2010

Let's start with the basics: who is this t**d, and how on earth did he get a responsible job? How or why does any adult anywhere have the slightest interest in undergraduate student government s**t? Given enough time I could think of something less important, but not off the top of my head.

And is this dipstick aware that Ann Arbor is right up there in terms of radicalism? You know, Berkeley, Madison, etc. Again, who cares? Let's just say the guy's right--the kid IS a radical gay rights activist. So what? Generally only a tiny portion of your undergraduates participate in student government or even the elections. They know it's nerdarama, and they avoid it like the plague. It wasn't too long ago that the undergraduate president at UT Austin, UT Austin!, was a black Lesbian. She was both! The great state of Texas survived.

My favorite student government prank occurred at Rice some years back, when the kids elected a refrigerator as homecoming queen! Now that's classy. The fact that this tool box is an assistant attorney general, or whatever, tells us much more about Michigan than does the election of a (gasp) liberal kid to student body president. What would be newsworthy is if the kid was a Goldwater republican.

During my sophomore year in h.s. they held a vote to change the school mascot (but not the school nickname). We could select from several names and also several different characters. Word got around and the winning vote was for a write-in choice of Kip the Keg. Clearly the powers that be would not allow this so they stuck us with the runner-up choice - Skip the Duck. :p
