NHL 2024: SLC Puck

And the draft was set up for them to succeed. And their ability to ignore playoff salary caps. And players willingness to take much less to play there. And their ownership. And...

They played the draft as smart as possible. I don't know if every team would have been as cutthroat about it as they were in taking advantage of really reading the rules. I don't think the NHL anticipated them taking such advantage.
 
Given that I think they’ve given up most of their future picks, will be interesting to see if they bottom out or find a way around it

The NHL allowed the fewest players to be protected ever and forgot that the salary cap made the rules completely different to the 1990-1999 expansion drafts.

My god, it’s shameful what the wild and blue jackets were given.

Lots of reasons to despise Vegas

Right now it’s popular but a lot of these teams are cyclical. There will come a point where guys are only gonna take so much of a discount (or teams won’t want to give up valuable pieces to Vegas in trades if all they are offering are old guys.

Either way mark stones gravy train is ending - the cap loophole is being fixed in this next cba that’s already done
