You mispelled 1/16, 2/15, ...

Get rid of the conferences and divisions and just rank them 1 to 32. Or split into two 16-team leagues with no interleague and let them play out 50 game seasons and playoffs, and then have the league champs meet in a one round Stanley Cup.

I am good with dropping divisions if the schedule is balanced then line them up 1v16, 2v15.
 
US women have a four goal 3rd period to beat Canada 6-3 for the world title. Breaks Canada’s two year streak.

Total championships are now 12-10 Canada. Not bad since Canada started with an 8-0 lead.
 
Not that I plan to watch a ton either way, but the Wild and Wolves having CST start times in the playoffs of 8:30 or later....
 
Would you rather have Carolina/Islanders start at 9:30pm their time instead?

There are four network TV time slots available: 7ET, 730ET, 930ET, 10ET. Someone's gonna get screwed and traditionally in the first round, it's the Central time zone.

It's a tale as old as time. Hate it? Then play in the Eastern conference.
 
Erickson ek is on the ice and may return earlier than expected, which will be necessary for the wild to have a fighting chance.

reading the athletic preview of the series and despite the whining that will occur when the Wild lose- what they’re doing with 12m dead cap is pretty incredible. Comparing Robertson and Kaprizov will happen for rest of their careers- but for godsakes look at what Robo has around him compared to Kirill. It’s just not even close and I think robo would be hurting if they swapped teams

Yeah, it’s a huge problem with the NHL. They’re heavy on Eastern time zone teams. It’s inevitable that something like this will happen.

I didn't say I don't understand the reasoning. Not every comment around here need a mansplain response. :^)
 
So I went looking for a graphic to show how whining about the Eastern Time Zone is ridiculous. And of course it is.

But my god, this is what I found:

No one whined about the Eastern Time Zone. I simply noted if you're a Wolves or Wild fan the start times suck. That's a stand alone observation and not a criticism of anything.

I don’t mind it. I don’t give a fuck about the eastern games and I can be outside until it’s dark, then come in and watch the games I want to watch, which are central and western time zone teams.
