Follow up on this: NCAA pulled in 800k on ESPN2. NHL game pulled in 1.2 mil on ABC.
Varying factors here. You have the biggest college hockey fanbase boosting numbers, but you also have the best NHL team and a massive fanbase in Boston boosting numbers there. I still think you could get an extra 400k solely by being on ABC to bring NCAA up to the NHL number. But you’re also not going to have a blue blood every year either. A Cornell-Merrimack final won’t bring in anything close to that. At the very least it’d be nice if they put it on regular ESPN.
It used to be on regular ESPN. But I don't think it matters. What package these days only has ESPN without ESPN2? And usually right next to each other in the channel listing.
Not many, but bars and people in general likely default to the main ESPN, so there’s missing exposure going to ESPN2.
If I'm reading it right, if Florida wins their final game then the Bruins and Islanders play in the first round.
The record goal margin in a Stanley Cup game is Detroit 15 New York 0, in 1944.

So, a Wild v Avs 1st round.

Looking like another first round exit for the Wild. This playoff format is not kind to them.
Let's be honest. You'd say that regardless of the opposition.![]()
