NHL 2021: I Pledge Allegiance to Gritty

Arizona obviously is snowbirds. Maine & New Hampstah I get because of the ex-Black Bears who've played big minutes for Detroit or been in the Wings' system in the last decade (Howie, Nyquist, Renouf, probably others I'm forgetting). Did the Wings used to have a minor league team on PEI or am I missing something? They don't have any players from PEI on the current roster.

The Nordiques still have a team page?

It’s just the team page on Sports Reference. Though if you search for the NHL Nordiques it brings you to the Avalanche page, so that could actually be the WHA team that’s listed?

The data still seems off though. Even if you get past the fact that Vermont is more rabid about looking up old stats on the Nordiques than looking up the Bruins/Canadiens/NY teams, how does Nevada end up with the Flyers? The Islanders really beat out the three California teams? The Avs have been dominant, but they really got more page views than Chicago in Illinois?

Not sure which Wild team is the more real one - the one that started at roughly 7-9 or the one that now has them at 19-11-2 but it's been a nice turnaround either way.

[edit] In looking back at their most recent schedule they haven't exactly been beating a murderer's row. But it's better than the alternative.

Their roster isn’t super impressive, so I’m not too down at this point.

it’s amazing kap has the numbers he does wit’s so little help, unlike Robertson in Dallas

Yeah the best answer is somewhere in the middle. They haven’t played a decent team in weeks. But like you said, this is a lot better than losing them! Kaprisov is always fun to watch, and Boldy is going to be an absolute stud when we finally get some true talent around him again.

Asses kicked all over the ice. But, this coach is supposed to be the shizzle.

I don’t know why he keeps going back to 11f-7d when issues come up. It’s never worked out this season. A problem made worse when Shaw was booted for kneeing, bringing them down to 10 forwards on the second night of a back to back.

I watched the SJ game up until their 5x3 in the 1st period in which it looked like they thought if the puck sniffed the crease it would result in small pox and I turned it off.

Wow. NHL thread on page 4

The Winter Classic is on and at Fenway. It's probably beyond miserable to be there, but it sure does make for cool photos. It's a little odd to hear the crowd but almost never see them.

The ice is supposedly very good, somehow, despite the fact that it's in the upper 40s.

Good choice of venue, but should play the Canucks*.

* I assume. How do the local fans rank their rivals? My guess would be VAN/SJ/LV/CGY/EDM, but I know nothing.
