For the first time ever the U18 women will not play for gold. Upset today 2-1 by Sweden in the semis. They had lost to them in a pre-tournament game but then beat them 6-3 in the group stage.

I thought Rick Tocchet got perma-banned for a gambling scandal in Arizona when he took a bullet for not ratting out The Great One? Am I completely hallucinating?
Ah yes, LSD-25 :^D. I know he got 2 years probation from the state of NJ; but IIRC practically nothing from the NHL

They're all trying to make this about the kid, which is completely immaterial. Hasek's argument has been that no Russians should be allowed to play pro hockey outside of Russia while the war is ongoing.

I don't think he'd be leaving the Biden admin without a reason.

U.S. Secretary of Labor and former Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is expected to leave the Biden administration soon, CNN reports, citing two sources. A formal announcement is not expected until after President Biden's State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.

ESPN reported last week that Walsh was a leading candidate to be appointed as the executive director of the National Hockey League Player's Association.

The NHLPA's executive board met last week in Florida to discuss his possible appointment as that organization's next executive director. ESPN said Walsh was recommended by a search committee.

Brock boeser apparently wants to come home and his agent has reached out to the Wild

That would be fun to see. But didn't the Wild just take on some of O'Reilly's salary as part of his move from St. Louis to Toronto? I wonder if that will screw up any chances to make some deadline trades for players like Boeser.

Sounds like Vancouver will have to retain some salary but who knows

i like boeser a lot but not sure he’s really what the Wild are missing

Yeah, it's hard to say.

He's young, so that's good. The Wild have a good defensive team, but Boeser won't help that. Boeser has always been good on the power play, but the Wild have a good power play right now.

The primary problem for the Wild is they just can't score. Their shooting percentage is terrible, and that is one area where Boeser has excelled throughout his career, so maybe he helps there. But right now on the right wing you have Reaves, Zuccarello, Hartman and Duhaime. Do you plug Boeser in for Duhaime? You're not getting rid of the other three.
