NHL 2021: I Pledge Allegiance to Gritty

It's only been 2 games but it looks like the Bruins are getting what they deserved. They went in to the last game knowing if they lost they'd play Carolina in the first round, a team they went 0-3 and were outscored 16-1 in the regular season. Sooo they decided to rest everybody and lost to the Leafs, are 0-2 against the Canes and have been outscored 10-3.

The GREEF line is the best of the series thus far, but the top line is starting to really come on again now that Zuccarello has a few games under his belt after being out for a bit. If the second line starts firing again, look out.
 
Team USA roster for the World Championships.

It’s got Seth Jones and, uh, ummm… Well it’s got Seth Jones.

Let’s see, no Zegras, Caufield, Eichel, Werenski, Kane, DeBrincat, Stastny, Wheeler, Hellebuyck, Jack or Quinn Hughes.

It’s mystery why USA Hockey is so fucking terrible at the Senior Men’s level…

Wow. It seems to me the team never recovered from the ridiculously long road trip waiting on UBS to open, and then didn't they experience a boat load of postponed games due to covid protocols? They clearly underachieved thjs season after two straight trips to the conference final and ultimately losing to the team that raised the Cup, but I would have figured another year in case it was a blip. They got further with Trotz, a Cup winning coach in his own right, than they did over the last 30 seasons.

For some yes, but we never really know since reporting is sparse and USA Hockey never speaks on it, something that should change. USA Hockey needs to start calling these guys out, especially USNTDP alums.

Trotz was not the problem. He's a great coach and if this was truly a firing based on failure to produce then the new Isles owners are as big dumbass-es as Wang was.

If he was willing to stay this was a terrible decision. I am disappoint.

It is odd that a guy who wins a Cup is allowed to leave and then the same guy leads his next team to more success since most of the current team could skate or was even born and is tossed aside yet again. I suppose it possible there is some sort of issue with Trotz, but I'm betting its about a thousand times more likely ths is just idotic behavior from the front office.
