Well, Edmonton's offense certainly showed up for this game. TBD on the defense and goaltending.

They were their game one. 4 goals should win. That D was atrocious. Tonight, it’s much better- which is highlighted by the back check of McDavid. They’ve held Vegas to 17 shots, most of which came after it was 4-0.

Does it feel like any team left in the playoffs are great? For me it feels like all the teams left are just good.

I think at times, some of the teams show some pretty impressive play, but not great.

What 'bugs' me about Toronto is just how sloppy they are with the puck. Florida does not have to put much pressure on the breakout because the Leafs are just dumping the puck around the zone without looking and without the other players moving around to help. I don't see the other teams struggling with that so much- and it's one of the chronic problems that drives me nuts here in Ann Arbor.

There was really only one “great” team this season and that was Boston. The West especially was a jumbled mess this year.

Man, this draft lottery isn't much of a lottery. Going backwards, the order is the original order up until #3, where Columbus moved from 2 to 3. Meaning Bedard and Fantili go to either Chicago or Anaheim. If this whole run up was to just swap Chicago and Columbus, what a waste of time.

edit- funny that Weekes spoiled that fun to point out.

And Bedard goes to Chicago, meaning Fantili will go to Anaheim.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Terrible that organization gets rewarded after the sexual assault cover up.

Of course Chicago won. *sigh*

They did finish 30/32, so it's not like they had super long odds. Still, some franchises seem to get all the draft luck when they need it (*cough**Edmonton**cough*). Pretty soon it'll be Pittsburgh's turn to need their next franchise savior.

Here's what's really odd- how is the rest of the line up exactly what it should be based on the odds? You would have expected one or two place swaps. But exactly nothing changed even when odds were not all that different.

Then we get to the top, and magically, the 11% slot won it.

Maybe I don't understand how the lottery actually, mechanically and statistically, works. But the lack of change except for one team jumping 2 just seems... odd...

OK- just looked it up. Apparently they just choose who wins, and depending on who it is, they then lottery the next down a little. So Chicago actually won- making 4 down not mean anything wrt the lottery. Then it was who would be #2. And for that, Columbus lost.
