For that to happen you need honest politicians and/or smart voters.

When I read the Deadspin article, there were a few pols who said "how would you like to be responsible for the Flames leaving?" or something like that.

Simple enough solution to that. Be transparent in negotiating a proposal, then put the proposal before the voters. If you have dumb voters they deserve to go bankrupt subsidizing some owner's property. The Brits deserve Brexit.

All I ask from pols is they not pocket money from corporations and sell their constituents down the river by hiding facts from them. If the constituents cut their own throats I'm with Mencken, "Democracy is the theory that the public knows what's good for it and deserves to get it good and hard."

Mookie always gives MA credit for standing up to Krafty bob. Of course krafty did do it hisself and became a billionaire :)

Thinking about that Lucic for Neal trade. Good chance Neal has a rebound year. Lucic might as well be used toilet paper at this point.

Lucic is only 31 (same age as Neal), and Edmonton has been a dumpster fire for the last two years. It's equally likely that they both benefit from the change of scenery, or that Lucic has a rebound year while Neal continues to slump, or that they both continue to suck goats.
