NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

For all the Minnesota fans out there:

One of the NHL Network Radio (SiriusXM) hosts was rating "teams most likely to win a Stanley Cup in next five years". They ranked Seattle over the Wild. Ouch.

Not a surprise.

Man, that is cold. I assume the Isles were low as well?

Why not? We're blowing up 25 year old stadiums left and right here in the states.

Re: NHL 2018-19 Part 1 - No power outage in Toronto this year!!

Whenever they post the FCC comments I always think of A Christmas Story:

“Now I had heard that word at least ten times a day from my old man. My father worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium; a master.”

That surprised me in ACS because in Shep's radio work The Old Man was not particularly a master of profanity. He was a tinkerer and fairly incompetent and the Major Award story was directly lifted from Sheps' books, but at least I don't recall him cursing all that much. He wasn't really around much. Shep, Schwarz, Flick, and Bruner pretty much raised themselves on radio.

They run this story every few years.

I'm a little surprised they can't bring him in on an involuntary hold. He sounds schizophrenic to this internet doctor.

I wonder what schizophrenics hear in atheistic cultures? Probably ancestors or some such.

I remember when how shocked I was to read that at the time JR Richard was living under a bridge. I should dig to see if there's been any updates. It was quite a while back.

He became a minister. There is a very bad movie about it. Anyway, he seems not just to be safe but also to be doing something way more valuable than baseball with his life. Helping at risk youth through sports. Freaking great comeback.

Whatever happened to former enforcer Matt Johnson? I know there was a piece about him a year or two ago because he was missing. He then surfaced in LA a bit later because he was arrested after vandalizing a Denny's and stealing cigarettes from a Mobil.

This is the most recent story I could find. Nothing new. It's sad.
