NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

If I were a Wild fan, I wouldn't be too crazy about Boudreau. He might get more production out of Parise and Vanek, but come playoff time, you already know the MO of his teams choking out in the first or second round. It's basically a lateral move, not an upgrade.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

His goaltenders have had a whopping .850 save percentage in the playoffs, so I don't put it all on him. However, I'm not jumping up and down. Happy with it, but not ecstatic. I still think the problem more lies with what's between the ears of some key players.

@HayesTSN: Dregs reporting Boudreau to Wild. Have to wonder if Ottawa pulled up short on the money. Again.

Rumored to be $3M per.

Local news has it at $4M per year, and commented that it's three times more than they paid Yeo.

Even if you are caught up in the playoff failures of Boudreau, he's undoubtedly the best coach available right now.

Isles just didn't have it. I don't think the Bolts can get past either Pittsburgh or Washington, but they're certainly doing better than I expected so far.

The Bolts are certainly helping themselves with short series so far. I'm also not sure if they have quite enough for Pittsburgh, although they may get Stralman back for the ECF (and possibly glue guys like JT Brown and Condra). I don't have any inside info, but I'd guess Stamkos is probably SCF for a return, if he's cleared by then.

They have kind of surprised me with how well they've played, but let's be honest, Detroit and the Islanders aren't top notch opponents either. Drouin's play has been a huge factor for them.

Vanek is likely gone anyway, so who cares? And Boudreau's records in game 7s mean nothing to me. That's a lot of luck involved and his goalies completely sucked in all of them. I'd say this was the best hire that could have been made at this time for this desperate hockey team.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

His teams did win half of their 1st round series correct? You're at least giving yourself a chance with results like that.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

Congratulations Kari Lehtonen. Survived an absolute onslaught. Hope he doesn't do it again Wednesday.

Re: NHL 2015-16: John Scott for MVP!

I thought if it's the result of a follow through from a shot, they don't call high sticking?

Didn't see it, but it all depends upon how the follow through happens. If it rides up a defenders stick, usually it's an incidental thing and not called. If you're just swinging your stick free, the ref might call it if he thinks it's egregious - judgment call.

Going to overtime in Nashville. Would love to see 2 game 7's come Wednesday night.
