NFL '24-25- lots of potential, any reality?

I don't know how many of you are old enough to get this, but Aaron Rodgers is to the Jets what Phil Esposito was to the Rangers.

At least Phil got to the Cup Finals in 1979. That was one heck of a run. Kings (in 2), Flyers (5), Islanders (6) and Canadians.

Look back to the early days of Matt Stanford. Expect this kinds of injuries. Ribs, shoulder, arms, legs. And hope he is as tough, or he will be ruined in a season.
Look back further when Jim Plunkett was drafted first by the Patriots in 1971, and the beating he took. From '71-'74 he was sacked 133 times.

What the Seahawks are wearing tonight is GORGEOUS.

I sense sarcasm. Or it's their original uniform.

Edit: it's the 90s uni. It's fine, but the 70s is still the all time most beautiful NFL jersey. The Nike trash bags destroyed my interest in the franchise.

A guide to the evolution:

70s: perfection, A
80s: some degradation but still lovely, B
90s: okay, boring, C
00s: gunmetal dreck, D
10s: all time low neon trash bags, F
20s: still asinine but slightly better, D

Yeah, they aren't bad and of course they are Michelangelo compared with that last 25 years.

That Hutch injury looks terrible. The defense will look pretty bad if they can't get pressure going forward.

Hutchinson had successful surgery on his tibia and fibula. Will come back to Detroit later in the week. Likely done for the season, but expected to recover. No idea if recover means he will be able to play football, or if it means he will be able to walk again.
