NFL '24-25- lots of potential, any reality?

I swear I didn't try to jinx you Viking fans.

Edit: See, I think the North is just the best division in football.

Goddam Jacoby Brissette is horrible. Guy wide open 20 yards down field right in front of him, and he tries to go left sideline, and throws a pick-six.

It's interesting how coaches outthink themselves really badly. Watching the Buffalo-Baltimore game, Buffalo ran this really odd "trick" play where allen was split wide, a receiver got the ball, ran out to him and handed him the ball- but the Ravens were not fooled at all- and it was an easy strip sack.

This after Buffalo got things going and was threatening to close the score to 21-17.

Why go away from the good plays that were working to experiment with a play that was so slow to develop, and seemed so easy to sniff out? If they lose- this was a pretty key reason how they turned the momentum back to Baltimore (who should score in a play or two off the TO).

To be fair, his offensive line is Swiss cheese. Fear makes one make bad reads.

Finally. After being stabbed through the heart repeatedly in the 70s and numerous times since, including the Favre Throw, the Vikes are almost certain to go all the way this year. They are indeed "scary good," and Lucy has grown old and disoriented. If I didn't already have plans, I'd start looking for SB tickets.

No one beats KC

Yeah, but he also misses seeing open guys and holds the ball too long, which doesn't help.

I don't think Maye would have those issues. He might make mistakes, might turn the ball over some, but he'll make some plays too. This Pats offense is just boring. If you're gonna lose, at least make it exciting.

And I sure as hell wouldn't put Drake Maye in behind that o-line.

Well, if the plan is to not play him at all, no matter what, then why the hell is he the backup?

It's ridiculous. Jayden Daniels is starting, and playing well, but that's because " he's played more games and has more experience" than Drake Maye.

But Drake Maye is only going to get better by not playing games. It doesn't make any sense.

Lions beat Seattle for the first time in seven tries, so that's nice. Lions really missed Branch tonight.

Swiss cheese would be an upgrade for the Pats O line. Wide Receiver Tyquan Thornton another great Pats draft pick, can't block a high schooler let alone a NFL player. Drake Maye will play at some point this season as Brissett will end up in the hospital.

Jared Goff: 18-18, 292 yards, 1 TD rec, and 2 tds

FYP. That was a fun play.

I'm less than overwhelmed by the defense. They really had a tough time stopping Seattle last night, and have struggled up to now, too. But I saw some talking heads this morning mention Campbell understanding complimentary football- which is why the offense is so aggressive. I also kind of think the lack of blitzing and relying on the front 4 almost all of the time is an indicator they are not confident in the secondary. So at least it seems that the coaches are totally aware of that. Hopefully, they can find a groove like they did last year as the season went on.

It's just hard, though- it takes the really fun games and makes them stressful to know that if the offense is stopped, we could be in trouble.

BTW, do the refs across the board have COVID or something? They seem to need to blow their noses a lot during games with those yellow hankies.

Jared Goff has more receiving touchdowns than Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, Brandon Aiyuk, and Jaylen Waddle combined.
