NFL '24-25- lots of potential, any reality?

Just happy the Lions won the toss. If LA had the ball first I'm not sure the Lions would have gotten the ball.

Tua gets his 4th (!) career concussion. Not a bad one like before, but not good. If he slid, it would have still been a first down, and Hamlin would not have presented his chest to bury your helmet into.

Tua will probably come back from this obvious concussion, either next week, or in a month or two, but one time, he will never come back.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Not that he's really good enough, but his career could end prior to him even getting enough seasons to be eligible for the HOF.

Aren't they saying Tua was knocked out from the hit? Looked bad to me. The guys brain is jello at this point.

Knocked out or concussed? I don't think he was knocked out- that normally just makes someone limp. Although I don't know if you will go into that pose when knocked out and concussed.

Either way, the big takeaway for the talking heads is that they mostly think he should retire. One in college, 3 confirmed and one probable in the NFL in 5 years is a lot. And they are not going to get better. The sad part is that this one is all on him trying to lean into a tackle instead of sliding.

Lions have no real offense. One TD all day, and Goff was more goof than effective. A really bad interception at the end of the game while they were driving to score, and then later on 4th driving to score, he throws way behind the line to gain. What in the world was that? Maybe Ben Johnson should have taken those HC offers, as they may dry up.

Too pass happy. 55 throws by Goff.
Buc nose tackle out with 1st and 10 on the 13 on the next to last drive with 1:12 left and 4 passes. You literally beat the Rams down last week in overtime. What was wrong with that?

Disappointing game from the Lions especially when their defense did so well. Could still have won but shot themselves in the foot too much today. Hopefully St. Brown isn't hurt since their recievers are lacking.

At the same time, some of the run calls were pretty bad timing. But I more agree that they should have been pounding the ball all game. They should have at least seen that the refs were not going to make obvious calls for PI on Tampa, so running would at least eliminate that route of bad calls.

Fk the Patriots and the NFL. My heart is now with the Geelong Cats and the Australian Football League.
J/k. They were hard to watch last night, but I've followed them through lean, good, and great years. I do get a kick out of the AFL. Don't know the rules; I like to call it controlled mayhem.
