NFL 2019-20: The Patriots Are A Terrible 11-3 Team!

I care so little about football these days I wouldn't mind rebooting the sport with no kicking. No, punts, no FG, no PATs. Let's make it simpler still and make a TD and a safety 1 point.

I think that is maybe a superior sport. It's not football, though, it's something totally different.

I'm surprised the Patriots didn't host the AFC final 3 straight. It feels like they did 10 times in 15 years.

No mixed feelings now, at least.

Well, it would suck if this was Drew Brees' last game, but he was the core reason that it looks like NO will lose. The only time TB offense has looked decent is post turn over. Other than that, it's not been impressive. Nor has their D- the interceptions were not great plays by the D, but just something not in Drew's arm anymore.

Seeing TB play like this, I see no real hope to see them in the SB. They CAN play better, but this was just ok. Very good on them to capitalize when given the chance- but what's the chance Rogers will do that?

Probably an unpopular opinion but, the "fumble out of the end zone results in a touchback" rule is one of the dumbest in all of sports. It's like a slap shot being deflected out of the rink by the goalie resulting in a delay of game penalty on you.

Thinking about it some, and seeing the highlight (missed it during the game- went on a walk)....

Yes, bad rule.

However, it's been a rule for a very, very long time. And this is not even near the first time a player took a risk to score a TD when they didn't need to and lost the ball. Should rail on whoever it was who stretched out when players were all around him. Dive, and let the ball be downed on the 1. Then you have 3 chances to score before dealing with 3 points.

Given how many times this has happened in the past, I don't expect players to really learn it, but they do need to learn it.
