NFL 2018 - cheaters never win, except for the super bowls and stuff :(

Re: NFL 2018 - cheaters never win, except for the super bowls and stuff :(

How can they not be favored? Are you just sandbagging?

The hateful, fetid little f-ckers have the GOAT QB and the GOAT coach and the team they are playing is meh with a side of pedestrian.

It's going to be 38-10 and we're all going to want to kill ourselves by halftime.

But what would that say about the Vikings?!

So, getting back to the upcoming game, I'd say whether the Pats should be favored or not depends on Gronk's availability. Their O has to win them the game because I'm wary of relying on the no name D. I don't think they even have a pro-bowler back there and half the league makes the Pro Bowl.

Send out Gronk-Amendola-Cooks-Hogan and a couple of pass catching RB's and that's a lot for any team to handle given that Gronk tends to draw a double team. Take him out and you double Cooks downfield forcing the Pats to throw short all day. It'll also be nice if the Patriots would get away from taking the first 3 quarters off. Yes, I'm sure seeing how deep into the game you can go before you wake up is amusing and all that, but maybe not quite as much for the fans.

2 weeks usually is enough time to recover from a concussion and I expect Gronkowski to meet the concussion protocol by then .

Pats are favored but I just think this will be a very difficult game for the Patriots. Philadelphia is a very good team and expect the Eagles to learn from the Jags mistakes of going conservative in the 2nd half. 🏈

It would say that when flawed teams play each other anything can happen. If Philly played Minny again this weekend it could be the Vikes by 30 this time.

Nobody beats the Rots, the Rots either win by sheer awfulness or they beat themselves. The Rots are cancer: there's no cure but sometimes you get lucky and it goes into remission against a team from New Jersey. Philadelphia is the spiritual capital of New Jersey, so I'm saying there's a chance.

1) They've never had a blowout Super Bowl in the Brady Era. In fact their biggest victory, or loss, was last year when they scored a TD in OT to win by 6.

2) The D isn't good enough to get off the field often enough to let Brady go wild. Even if he's having a good day, he's going to be on the sidelines as lot as the D allows Philly to march down the field when they hopefully hold them to a FG. Its just the way they're set up.

3) Pats secondary isn't a ballhawking defense. They're coached to get in the way and deflect passes, not turn around and try to take it the other way. They also rarely gamble. That grind-it-out mentality leads to a lot of close games.

4) Super Bowl vs Atlanta and win yesterday vs Jax relied heavily on a key factor, which was the opposing team being absolutely gassed on O and D by the 4th quarter. Yes the Pats were making plays, but if you watched the Jax D they got waaaayy slower as the game went on, to the point that they couldn't even cover on 3rd and long anymore. I have no idea how the Pats manage to do this or how to gameplan against it, but if an opposing coach ever figured out how to conserve his team's strength and have them not go balls to the wall for the first 3 quarters, leaving nothing left for the 4th, the miraculous comebacks would be a little harder.

Those are all reasonable points. What have you done with Rover?

Funny guy! Look, were it not for injuries (and a lot of teams can say that) this would be one of the very best NE teams to make a Super Bowl bid. As it is, losing their best WR (Edelman), #2 TE (Bennett), best LB (Hightower), and the surprise retirement of Ninkovich on the line has made this probably the weakest SB team since the team that beat the Rams in their first SB win. Although oddly enough that team was much more talented on D than on offense, a reverse of this year's squad.

What Philly needs to avoid at all costs is falling behind by two scores even if its in the first quarter. Do that and the Pats schemes make you one dimensional and that's when they start feasting on you.

Wow. A website with hundreds of anonymous users. That certainly settles it.

I agree Boston being only second is questionable. But it's limited to sports so you have to discount for their lameness across all behaviors.

How is Toronto #37? They should be Top 15 on the strength of Leafs fans alone.

NFL says Carolina handled Cam Newton correctly after he gets absolutely destroyed in playoff game. He falls down on way to sidelines because he couldn't see :)
