He didn't create all the plays so no...

If Peyton worked with a better offensive minded coach like Sean Payton who has far more route combinations and innovation in his offense that would've been a site to behold. Tony Dungy's was incredibly simplistic and he even admitted as much in interviews.

terry bradshaw called all the plays :p

"They named a whole state to honor Joe Montana. Well, a town in Massachusetts changed its name to honor Terry Bradshaw. Marblehead." -- Howie Long

Maybe it was simplistic so yokel Peyton could understand it?

If 100 people were polled, 102 would choose to live in Marblehead.

I personally think Terry Bradshaw is one of the most underrated QBs in NFL history...the guy won 4 Super Bowls and it seems like most of the credit goes to the coach, defense and his receivers...not him.

Its not just that he won 4, its that he had to go through that insanely good Cowboys team to win two of them. To me Bradshaw was the ultimate do what the team needs me to do QB. If handing off to Franco Harris got the job done and the D locked down the opponent, so be it. But if the D was struggling and he had to put up points he could. I'd also point out to even get to the SB Bradshaw had to go through the Miami's and Oakland's of the 70's who were both multiple SB winners just like the Cowboys were.

Not the Dolphins -- the only Steelers win over the Dolphins in a playoff game was in 79 against a Dolphins squad unrelated to their title teams. But Oakland, absolutely!

Here are the Steelers' playoff games during the 70s . The caliber of competition (RS record) is very high:

72 D W-Oak (10-3-1)
72 C L-Mia (14-0)
73 D L-Oak (9-4-1)
74 D W-Buf (9-5)
74 C W-Oak (12-2)
74 S W-Min (10-4)
75 D W-Bal (10-4)
75 C W-Oak (11-3)
75 S W-Dal (10-4)
76 D W-Bal (11-3)
76 C L-Oak (13-1)
77 D L-Den (12-2)
78 D W-Den (10-6)
78 C W-Hou (10-6)
78 S W-Dal (12-4)
79 D W-Mia (10-6)
79 C W-Hou (11-5)
79 S W-LA (9-7)

I don't hate, slight, or not respect Brady one bit. Top 5 all time without question. Can get a little muddled from there, as are all top 5 lists. For direct comparison, I'd still take Peyton over Brady.
You say you don't slight or disrespect Brady, yet you can only deign to put him in your Top 5? Rube, he CANNOT be out of the top 3 in any rational discussion. Brady, Montana and Peyton, and for me the order I presented is correct.

I dont think it's hearsay to have Brady at 4, if you prefer Montana, Unitas, and Manning.

I'd have difficulty arguing anyone else.

Re: NFL 2018-19: Let's Be Honest, Jerrah is the Real Commissioner.

Putting Unitas aside from a moment, its a contest between Brady and Montana. Not sure where Manning entered that discussion. If we're going to say Unitas is better than Brady then we're saying he's the GOAT. Can't say one way or the other as he was long gone by the time I came along and I've seen even very few highlights of his play.

Brady is light years ahead of the other two. He can't be placed anywhere but #1. It's over now.

You're not sure where 539 career passing TD and 71000 yards entered the convo?

Re: NFL 2018-19: Let's Be Honest, Jerrah is the Real Commissioner.

Then why not Drew Brees ahead of Manning? He has all the records now, doesn't he?

And Brees put up those numbers with two different teams - for long stretches with both teams, to boot.

Re: NFL 2018-19: Let's Be Honest, Jerrah is the Real Commissioner.

Drew Brees is not in the conversation due to the team he played on not being very good, very often. Hard to be the GOAT when you aren't winning. Brady, Manning and Montana were all over .700 in regular season wins.

Re: NFL 2018-19: Let's Be Honest, Jerrah is the Real Commissioner.

Well... are we trying to find the GOAT QB or which great QB was consistently on great teams?

Individual awards should be awarded to the best individual regardless of what the team around them does.

I struggle with this logic, though. Defense and special teams are vitally important in football, and without them, it’s extremely difficult to win at a high level.

I think this is part of where Shirtless’ point comes into play —Belichek and his ability to coach and assemble the other pieces so consistently well has helped Brady maximize his ability, and they’re both GOATs because of it.

Then the rankings would be different for sure, if winning had no implications. You'd be saying the playoffs cant be considered at all.

I always have this problem when I'm trying to decide which center was GOAT. How do you treat fumbled snaps.
