and IMO if there's any doubt, don't call it. just fine guys after the fact when you're able to see a replay. i admit it's not easy to see live.

I can agree with that.

The NFL has made its stance very clear on domestic violence by outlawing tackling #BALvsPIT

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

If that 15 yard penalty on Pala was correct per the rule book, my goodness they've gone too far.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

That was a pitiful display by the officials..Calling clean hits penalties over and over again.

Re: NFL 2014-15: Iron Fist Getting Rusty?

The interwebs wondering about Big Ben comparisons with Ray-Ray, b/c he treated women worse.

Y'all forgot something. NO F*ING EVIDENCE. Despite my personal opinion, he is not guilty on any of that. There is no comparison. There is video of Ray-Ray KO'ing his future wife. It's clear cut. THERE IS NO DEFENSE TO THAT.

Outside the Lines reporting that Ray Rice told Goodell back in June that he punched his wife. Goodell later when on to say that Rice and his legal team were being "ambiguous." If he's still commissioner after this whole ordeal, it'll be a miracle.

Vikings Adrian Peterson indicted for child abuse...

So, how long does he sit? Is this considered "domestic violence"?

I do believe this is a different situation. From the Pioneer Press's site, "A Houston television station reported Friday that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted in Montgomery (Texas) County for reckless or negligent injury to a child."

...

"NFL.com reported that the indictment stems from disciplining a son with a switch. The website reported the investigation has been going on for "some time" and that Peterson testified for a grand jury 'weeks ago.'"

My family used to live in Georgia. I grew up hearing stories about my brothers being disciplined with switches by their teachers. I know they hurt, and there are reasons why they're not mainstream anymore. Still, they never left a mark and my brothers aren't deformed or defective from the experiences - in fact, they laugh about it these days. This goes along with the debate surrounding spanking children.

Man...of all the possibilities that you could consider on the metric of "the last thing the NFL needs right now..." this one would score pretty high.

A superduperstar and one of the true household names of the NFL next to the words "child abuse." That's gonna leave a mark, guilty or not.

That's kinda my thought.... I understand that, at this moment, the situation seems to be Peterson "disciplining" the kid vs AD just beating the kid for the hell of it... But it's not good P.R. by any stretch...

I have to wonder if Goodell goes and tries to suspend AD for a long time just to prove a point... Whatever he does, Goodell is just gonna pizz off more people, for sure...

New drug policy.

Notably: Wes Welker and Orlando Scandrick will be reinstated and eligible to play this weekend, and Josh Gordon's suspension will be reduced to 10 games.
