Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Didn't Fox say they can't win running a "regular offense" with Tebow?
The fact they have won with him completing 2 passes in a game is amazing.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Seriously? No review of that "catch"?

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Great time management there, Rex. Clock the ball, save the time-out for after another snap? Nope. 5 seconds wasted and a 61-yard figgie attempt is sooo much better.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

I sort of liken it to the wildcat. You bet Tony Sparano deserved credit for really being the first to take total advantage of it 3-4 years ago, but now it's been pretty well caught up to, and he's the coach of a crappy football team.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

Teams adjust to gimmick offenses fairly quickly. Cases in point: Wildcat and Run N Shoot. And if you can't adjust (and according to Fox, Tebow apparently can't), you're in big trouble.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

And then that option goes for 15+. *shrug*

I still contend he's going to get smoked running this offense, and sooner rather than later.

It'll take a bit. Every "new" scheme takes a bit to crack, because NFL teams are so traditional and against change. Run'n'Gun, Zone Blitz Defense, West Coast Offense....I'm waiting for the Blur Offense to become the new trend.

Edit: still wish the A11 Offense was legal in the NFL. That'd be fun.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

how is that sack by von miller not a penalty in the nfl these days? he led with his helmet and it looked very close to helmet on helmet.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

The Broncos are like a real life version of Major League.

Team sucks
Team puts crappy player out there and trades away Pro Bowl wide receiver while ownership plans new QB next year
Team inexplicably keeps winning.

Re: NFL 2011: The Suck for Luck edition

tebow hasn't been a great passer but by all accounts he's worked his *** off for this opportunity. i think he deserves to be given a fair shot. the broncos were dead and buried when they made the change and now they're in playoff contention. i don't understand why some people actually get mad at him winning games.

It's not that he is winning games. It's the morons who think he's a good QB. He's not. He's a decent RB in the QB position.
