Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

I heard on KFAN on the way home that Chili apparently decided to cut him and told the team, but never told management or ownership. The team has turned into a historic trainwreck.
To be fair, it isn't really all that much worse than all their other train wrecks, is it? :p

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Only Randy Moss can waive Randy Moss...he'll announce it to the league after he has informed himself

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Karma? For what, brining Favre back?

The team's problem is a lack of execution in key moments of the game...

Exactly. If you would've given Tavaris Jackson a fair shot and built around AP, you might've been down a year. However, you would be back with a high draft pick.

Rimbaud, I may have bad taste in teams, but I can live with it. It numbs me to the daily disappointments life throws at me. :D

They tried that. Or did you forget that the Vikings didn't just draft him in the last two years...

He did ok in 2008 until the OL let Philly rape him. No, TJ is not the future of the Vikings but he never had this kind of an offense to play with, even without Sidney Rice.

I really can't wait for the Vikings to leave already. I know, probably won't happen, but I can dream. I am sick of the news being filled with this crap I just don't give a hell about.

Jackson went 10-6 in 08. Fourve improved their record by a gawdy ONE win. The Vikes could've given TJ a chance to sink or swim. If they didn't like his performance, they could've drafted a future QB this year. Ted Thompson was ahead of the curve in sending Favre packing.

No he didn't. Gus Frerotte was named the starter by week 3 (TJack didn't start again until week 14 or 15), and the Vikings finished 12-4 last year, which would be an improvement by two wins. And instead of losing in the first round, they lost in the NFC Championship game.

See vid for my feelings.

From Glazer: Guys, Chilly wins out on this one and team is in fact going to officially waive moss tomorrow.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

So, Chili can stand up to Moss, but not BrettFavre? Too funny.

If Chili survives this week, either with his job or his life, I'll be shocked.

I can't wait for the Jason Whitlock column that says it's because of Moss' and Favre's respective races.

The postmortem on this whole Vikings thing is going to be fascinating reading. Apparently the owner of the team wasn't too thrilled that Chilly just decided to drop Moss - nor were the players. In the end it came down to the coach or the player and Vikings management chose the coach. Don't think he's on too many Christmas card lists though.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

No one with multi-year contracts left is getting fired this year, no matter how bad they are. You think Wilf wants to pay two coaches to not coach football next season?
