Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Has the NFL always been this crazy, or is this year an outlier? Seems like one shocking headline after another.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Woo hoo! I don't have to sit through the Bears and Bills. I get the Giants and Seabags.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Muah ha ha ha! I finally get to watch a Giants afternoon game while sitting on my couch in New Hampshire!!!
It's a shame it has to be Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, but it's better than nothing!

(Unfortunately, the Giants seem to always lose in Seattle. Hopefully this time will be different, but I feel completely confident in predicting that the crowd noise will force Eli to use at least one timeout in a situation that'll make me go "godDAMMIT Eli, just snap the ball!")

I hope to god that there is someone on here that can explain Canadian Football, cause this just has me lost.... I found the following explanation on DeadSpin, and it helps a bit, but still... Whisky Tango Foxtrot :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

You don't have to understand it to realize it was totally phucking awesome.

In CFL, if the field goal misses, but goes through the endzone, the kicking team gets a point. So the defense has to get it out of the end zone and go down to end the play. If it looks like they can't get it out, they can choose to kick it out, the play is then still active. The offense can then try and kick it through the endzone again for a point. If they fail, the defense still has to get it out of their end zone.

Can you repeat the part.....

So if the defending team (here, the Argos) doesn't pick it up in their end zone, it's not a dead ball, and the kicking team can recover it for a touchdown (like on a kickoff in the NFL)? And if the defending team picks it up, they can't fall on it for a touchback, but rather it would be a safety if they're tackled in their own end zone? I guess I do understand that part, and why you would then kick it out of your end zone instead, but it's the fact that the Alouettes are allowed to kick it again (in the style of a punt, not a FG try) and, I guess, still get a point if the ball goes through the end zone?

What would have happened if they kicked the ball out of the end zone and out of bounds?

Indeed. It's weird, but exciting.

So the 'Skins benched their out-of-shape QB who can't handle pressure to sign...an out-of-shape QB who can't handle pressure.

Strong work, Chainsaw Dan.

Desperate times, such as having a losing streak to the Lions, call for desperate measures.

I can't even say that without laughing.
On top of that, they worked out JP Losman.
Oooh... Lions-Jets or Cardinals-Vikings. Thank Parise for NFL RedZone!

That seems like a random addition. And here I thought Canadian football only had a longer field!

The most important question is...how would this have been scored in fantasy football?
