Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

My 41 point lead has turned into an 8 point lead. He has Schaub, Johnson, and Foster...

EDIT: 2 points...I'm screwed.

EDIT2: Nevermind...we're tied.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

No one with multi-year contracts left is getting fired this year, no matter how bad they are. You think Wilf wants to pay two coaches to not coach football next season?

Not even Chan Gailey? I think you have to cap him if he goes 0fer the season.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

My shutout is still alive! No more Hart and Walter! Please!
Schaub needs to go BrettFavre on the bit and throw 3 picks.

Oh, BTW...the winner of my game will have scored the most amount of points in the league this week. I can't string two wins together in this league for some reason. I also have the most amount of total points in my league. Only one over 1000 going into the week.

The win in the other league is wrapped up though. :D

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Considering how much of a cheapass your owner is? Yeah. I think they'll keep him through a lockout.

I hate to agree with you, Nick. But I have that fear. 0-16 should be an automatic firing regardless of contract status. Heck, the Fins capped Cameron after 1-15 in year one.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

I really hate Monday Night Madness...I get beat because Kenny Britt is a ***** and Andre Johnson caught one pass on the last drive...

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Where was that in the beginning of the drive Freeney? I would have won.

My whole 6-team division does not have a winning record among us. We beat each other up during divisional play, and the other division destroyed us in the past couple weeks. I think 5 of the 6 teams are within 1 game of each other.

I love/hate FFL.

This week's results really ruined my chris johnson trade :(

Currently up on Randy Moss' website

How many yards will Moss gain against Arizona?
10
30
50
70

Can't answer 0 :(

You'll like that trade towards the end of the season when TEN still has to try to get a playoff spot. Just sayin'.
Its a ten team league with 4 teams making playoffs, i fell to 2nd with this week's loss and next week half my team is on bye...I'm only a game out of 5th place :( very frustrating to have a healthy WR get hurt on his first target and get ZERO points. That just killed me this week. If he had caught that one pass and still gotten hurt, I would have won.

That's exactly why you will like that trade. If you can sneak into the playoffs, other teams' starters may be resting, and your stud RB will be fighting for a playoff spot. If you're in the playoffs when that happens....you'll be dangerous.

The postmortem on this whole Vikings thing is going to be fascinating reading. Apparently the owner of the team wasn't too thrilled that Chilly just decided to drop Moss - nor were the players. In the end it came down to the coach or the player and Vikings management chose the coach. Don't think he's on too many Christmas card lists though.
So it sounds like Childress actually had the authority to release Moss. At first it sounded like he might not have had the authority but did it anyway, which made me think back to Ron Meyer's tenure in New England in the early 80s. Meyer did a great job with the team but by season three he had little support in the locker room. So he doubled down and fired the popular DC, Rod Rust. Then management fired him, hired Raymond Berry (who IIRC was out of football at the time, a few years removed from being a Pats assistant), Berry rehired Rust, and they made the Super Bowl the next season.

Of course, this wasn't all that unusual for the Patriots at the time. This was just six years after their HC was suspended for accepting a job with the University of Colorado, then reinstated for a playoff game two weeks later. Ah, the bad old days . . . :)

My league has something like that too. 12-team league divided into four divisions, mine has the teams that are, by points scored, #2, #3 (me), #5 and #7. On the other hand the guy that's #1 doesn't have anybody else in his division who has as many points as any of the teams in mine.

Re. my second league, to further highlight how huge a week my 150 points (revised to 148 after a scoring correction) was: nobody else put up more than 88.

I'm tied for 2nd in my league at 5-3. The guy with the most points is tied for fifth at 5-5. He's also 2nd in points against (for instance, I beat him 120-115, when most weeks 95-100 points earns you an easy win).

The guy in first at 6-2 is middle of the pack in points. But he's head and shoulders the leader in points against. So...its better to be lucky than good.

How has the guy with the most points played more games than everyone else? :p

Shawne Merriman will be released as soon as he passes his physical. So there will be two big names on the waiver wire.
